  1. Is it volume of usable timber or volume of material being removed. So say clearing a large are of less than 8" mixed species trees and chipping the lot to be removed producing 30qube of chip on an industrial estate who have lpa planning consent would or wouldn't need 1? 2. Very nice, that'll help save your back! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  3. Mad they need a crain to build s crane to build a crane! Still a baby compared to the 1 they had to lift the bridge in over the A1 near us, close to 1000ton apparently and in top 5 biggest Road going cranes in Europe. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Dread to think what the cost in that lot is a day!! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. No, I believe he's at spectrum plant now. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Tried the back in the dark visit and spend 2hrs on a slippery hillside looking for 1 with no joy, was well pissed off! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. I wish! Thick freezing fog until mid afternoon for us, bit of sun but still bitterly cold up on Moor tops. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  8. Didn't you get that nearly 2 years ago! Remember you showing it to me! Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  9. It's a time thing or rather lack of time thing where I end up prioritising the jobs as.... Have to do, Need to do Could do with doing Should do Want to do Would like to do Sod it I'm working a Sunday to do. Really ought to get someone else to do Pay someone to do. Or something like that 😉 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Fantastic, it's still attached to the pallet it arrived on 😚 Completely changed how we did the job it was intended for, then decide the massy wasn't going to stop so didn't fit it with intention of fitting to next tractor then got valtra which had front links so could take farmi winch, now might be keeping massy so might still go on that and if not definitely going to keep as will have something come up where I can modify it onto something to be useful..... Probably 😜 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Darn good winch though, very well built, used 1 for years and it took everything we gave it I believe it's still going after 19 years now. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. It's a igland blade, just picked it up 2nd hand and is useful to nudge stuff out the way without having to turn round to use the winch, not tried stacking timber up with it yet but really want to make a decent nose guard for valtra 1st save putting something through radiator! It's a manual farmi jl501 which is proving a good bit of kit. Would have liked a all singing remote control set up but at well over twice the price just couldn't see the justification for how much we actually did at the time but then typically then get a whole heap more work for it..... Better picture of blade for you Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Back in the woods clearing some room and winching in some hard to reach trees before the harvester starts end of next week. Had a 74 year old legend of the chainsaw from Hamsterley felling in front of me . Plenty more to do on oversize and hard to reach once a crossing is made in the beck and what we have stacked up is processed. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. Nice simple rigging with a safeblock to reduce the load on rigging point, was more for swinging and redirecting stuff than true lowering, botex took over for the heavy stuff, ground was steeper than photos look so stuff rolling down was a real concern. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Post last picture again as hasn't worked I think Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Today was remove a old Holm oak, shame but a report said fell and council agreed and lifted the tpo so down it came. Heavy stuff. Fairly well gon in the stump which made grinding easy 👍 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Handy thred as now running two tractors my little 450ltr tank is looking rather small! Company I use also happy to put into drums so get 600 at a time to tip into next price bracket if I got over 1000 it'd be a little cheaper again so might get something a bit bigger soon Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. 325 after that incident that's when got new saw nd got it on 3/8 Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Ran a 20" on my 1 for a few years now since new and the new gray husky bars seem quite good after I destroyed my sugi.... Along with the saw it was attached to 😭 Don't think I'd want Togo much bigger as the balance will be miles out, better to swap to a bigger saw imo Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. They run well, stronger chain, takes more abuse, easier to sharpen well for lads and less teeth already. Had 15" of Rob but got a 20" husky bar from dealer from new on 1 saw which I believe was actually for a rancher whichever saw that is. Just works well for me not having to keep a stock of different chain and just make as needed. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. Why not swap the 560 onto 3/8 like we have and I now have a 550 2x560 2x372 and 390 all running same chain so get a real at a time and make up as needed, works out a lot cheaper. Also think the 560 is better on the bigger chain Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  22. Just got a T131 from Brian robbinson machinery in East Cowton and very happy with it, pulls the big botex trailer no problem and actually seems very good on fuel for its size. Yes it takes a bit more turning around than a smaller 4 cylinder tractor but the big nose give it a lot of stability and quiet a nice ride on the road. I'd stick with a hitech model as a lot less electronic stuff like simple levers onto hydraulic valves rather than push button stuff. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  23. No, above Catterick on the dry fire range. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. Better late than never 😉 And before anyone says anything it's not bee line being used it's arborplex which according to retailer is safe to use Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Looking forward to some video of it feeding itself or better still if your around this way send me a message and I'll try come have a look. Sent from my D5803 using Arbtalk mobile app
