  1. Blazer, i have Stihls MS460 carb tuning guide in a PDF document thing. If you want a copy send me a PM with your email address I'll send it to you.
  2. Wrong approach. Forgiveness is usually easier to obtain afterwards than permission in the first place
  3. There's no approved combination for the 660, but Stihl PN 0000 642 1239 is a .325 9T drive sprocket that should fit. But think about it..... 660s are .375 or .404 for a reason!

    Husky 357xp

Did you manage to resolve this Scottie? I have a newish 357 that's leaking a lot of oil. Stripped the pump down and as Spudulike says it must be leaking from the compression joint on the input and output hoses, but the parts are in good condition. Put it all back together, ran it and within minutes it was leaking again. Can't see that new parts will stop it. Maybe I should "adjust" the shape of the coverplate to exert more pressure on the join!!!
  5. And Ohio's lax laws on keeping wild animals... he had a previous conviction for animal cruelty.
  6. Or if you're not already sorted try classic hand tools.
  7. The dual port cover is just the cover. If you look at what's on there now it's in 2 parts. The exhaust casing with a single port and the cover which has not exhast port. The new cover just bolts on to your existing casing giving you the second port. It comes with a mesh spark screen. Not sure about the gasket.... I'll have to check mine, but I don't think i fitted it. More reading here: http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/120192.htm
  8. And then why not the long clutch cover 1122 648 0401 complete with chip deflector 1122 656 1510 too You could be right about the availibility in the UK. I got mine in the US. Pretty sure Mister Solutions sell the DP cover only.
  9. I always wonder why the 395 is so much more popular on here that the 390. It's a lot heavier and only a fraction more powerful. Never used a 395 myself.... maybe I'd know why if I had?
  10. 1128 140 0616 is the AU/NZ full exhaust (casing with cover). There's also 1128 140 0612 which I think is the same, but with out the spark screen.
  11. The AU/NZ saw have a bigger port in the casing as well as the dual port cover, but the cover it worth fitting. MS440/460 Dual port part number is 1128 140 0801 The large felling dawgs for a 460 are: Inner: 1122 664 0506 Outer: 1128 664 0501
  12. 0000 642 1216.
  13. Another vote for Town and Country here. They do a front cover called a 3D stretch which fits my Hilux pretty well.
  14. Which model is it please? They seem to do 3... basic, standard and plus. Apart from the price, it is not clear what extra features you get with the more expensive ones.
  15. It's only certain countries where Stihl saws are supplied with 1.6mm gauge bars/chain. In the USA they are more often 1.3mm gauge or 1.5mm gauge. Here's their chain decode: Gauge (on drive link) 1 = .043" (1.1 mm) 3 = .050" (1.3 mm) 5 = .058" (1.5 mm) 6 = .063" (1.6 mm) 0 = .080" (2.0 mm) (0 = Harvester Chain Only)
  16. I think by the time you added sales tax and the credit card company took their cut at the current poor rate, it would have been nearer £650-700. You can get a 660 for £850 here, so the savings aren't anything like half price. When a pound was worth around 2 US dollars there were some bargains around
  17. Turned on my Mac this morning and it goes straight to the Apple homepage and there it was....Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011.
  18. Anybody going to the European Woodworking Show this weekend at Cressing Temple near Braintree, Essex? The European Woodworking Show
  19. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itz4O0prNcg]Toyota Commercial - YouTube[/ame]
  20. I like Plant Oil Plantoil - Home Page Seems to be cheaper than the big brands and does not seem to go off in a saw that is not used for a while.
  21. Pretty sure Writtle supply just about everything. Not certain about boots, but you'll need those yourself anyway.
  22. There's a little known British company called PHD that make some of the finest down kit around. Peter Hutchinson co-founded Mountain Equipment back in the 60's then set up his own company. They have a sale coming up soon with some bags available starting at £165 PHD mountain software I know only too well that down and water do not mix, but an ortleib drysac shuold protect it in the canoe.
  23. I reckon it just a way the manufacturers can get more money out of the UK market by tricking us into spending more on a bigger saw. You wanna run a 25 inch bar... then it's gotta be a 441 or 460. They don't get away with it in the States. Just my cynical opinion
  24. Cannon. The best bar - bar none... or so they say! I bought a Windsor Speed Tip for milling because it was cheap, and it's lasted really well too.
  25. Never really understood the 341. Wasn't it the same size engine and same weight as the 361, but with less power and only a bit cheaper?
