  2. id say if were honest we all started out blunting saw way more than necessary and then doing a crappy job on the sharpening, then start to realize what an ass sharpening is and learn how best to avoid it. carl

  6. no i havent done cs 41 woudnt mind though, still ones always learning all the time, i think the problem may of been letting a large lump run too quick, not sure though, the upshot is the boss has bought a mega new bollard so i hope we wont see any more glazed ropes! thanks for the input guys carl

  11. ye a lot of nice big macs around, always get hammered by the storms though, this one had a lot of dead and broken branches so had to be careful over the flat roof!
  12. started these two macs today, bit bigger than the norm for us, but got a new mega bollard and did some good whole limb balances, and sunny too! carl

  14. as others have said the geckos are really comfy( well in spike terms!). i think you may be able to buy pads separate, might fit your spikes? carl
  15. iam after a removable pin for the mk 1 rope wrench, any ideas of the best place to get one?? thanks carl
  16. looks fun, a pair of fencing pliers kept in the truck can help with those iratating fences!
  17. i use long lanyard anchored at the back in the middle then a carritool on either hip so i can clip either side, still a tangly pain in the ass though. carl
  18. is the argument for leaving a long stub to prevent decay in the main stem not valid? genuinely interested in peoples opinion. carl
  19. fair enough £40 does sound a bit optimistic, a friend built one out of an old trampoline frame and he said that all the bits n bobs for it did mount up ( not near the retail of a stien mind), a handy yoke though.
  20. i dont think its about the maths its about whether your the sort of person who can and enjoys this sort of project, if so then your gonna have stuff around to make it out of, plus the satisfaction of making it.

  22. started using a 200tcm recently and it seem nice to use seems a bit lighter and more nimble than the 200t and the auto on switch it handy, powerfull enough id say, havent tried the husky tho. carl
  23. are you in the slowest gear? also i tend to tie the deflector flap open a bit to help the grass fly out. probably not great for the mower long term either. could strim the top off?
  24. iam the same , pretty much a day off work the next day if i get stung, cant hardly move my hand. didnt realise the epi pens where that cheap, should get one just in case really. carl
