  1. thanks for the replies, i ended up getting a draper storm force machine, pretty low quality Chinese build but seemed to do the job with a good bit more power over my old machine. it was a €100 picked up on the way home so no messing with delivery's. thanks again carl
  2. my very old little router has given up, so looking for a new 1/4 collet machine, seen a clarke one local to me thats cheap. any advice thanks carl
  3. ive never had this, although if iam running it with the bar off id only run gently on half revs, usually to see if its oiling.
  4. stick with it , it can take a while to get all the new gear to work well, settings, travel adjustment ect. if you can find the time and a tree with a clear asscent , then play about up and down adjusting gear and techniques to see what works. it does take time.
  5. its rarely the wood itself that causes a blunt chain, usually dirt, stones , metal in the wood or getting hit on the ground

  8. id imagine either the chicane as its made for the zz or a rope wrench pretty sure you can use them with a zz but id check that! a foot asscender and some sort of chest harness thing for advancing the system and id say you coud get going on srt, plenty more gear for it available but easier to start simple.

  11. nothing wrong with being the oldest person on the course, the nptc,s are a good basic course in which you would learn loads. theres plenty of good info on the net but theres no way of knowing whether your implementing it properly. theres a lot of folk on here who know their stuff, i think you will learn more if you listen to them rather than arguing with them. carl

  24. i made up a kit from some cord from a chandlers with a good enough rating and snap links from rock climbing plus a few old climbing krabs. also made a hoop to carry them on, works really well for side limbs and a bit of timber. not sure about steel krabs i would of thought 10 of them might be a bit on the weighty side. carl
