  3. yep... calling it "single rope technique" is the stupidest thing we ever did, should of called it " safe rope technique!

  13. as it doesnt seem to be in your house, you probably cant stop it, so buy a new amp and speakers and relax!! i have heard roofing felt flapping in the wind making weird noises. does it still make the noise on a dead still night/ day? next doors growroom?! that they didnt mention when you asked!
  14. the correct procedure is "shit your pants, then try and get down asap" it hasnt happened to me but i watched it happen to a fellow worker.... not much fun.
  15. every post being about covid restrictions it would appear!!
  16. quick question, you are climbing with two main lines as per new regs, do you need to have your lanyard anchored whilst cutting ie three ropes, or can you omit the lanyard as you have two mainlines? thanks
  17. testing an anchor and selecting an anchor are quiet different, id say if your unsure about an anchor just go for a bigger lower limb then move your anchor up higher when your up there as you can see the condition of the final anchor a lot more easily
  18. we test anchors by grabing your mate and both hanging off the rope, we mainly climb srt so this is to test the soundness of the anchor but also to ensure the rope isnt over any small branches that one cant see, and generally seat the rope in the fork
  19. thats a shame about the switch as they sounded good. we have a new stihl battery pole saw and that has a weird double dead mans but no on off switch, my mate managed to activate the chain whilst pulling in out of some branches by the head end!!!
  20. i did this a long time ago on a big camper van and used a company called svtech, it was a easy enough process .
  21. well i made it with about 5min to spare!! i got a car with a satnav, made it pretty easy. hats off to people who drive that way regularly, crazy busy ,i probably saw more cars yesterday than i have in the last 5 years here in ireland. anyway thanks to all those who posted, nice one. carl
  22. cool thanks guys, the m25 looked best but every time i said m25 to someone they just groaned so i just wanted to check there was no viable alternative, going to be busy as iam hoping to leave the airport just after nine. thanks again carl
  23. sorry a bit of a random question, i have to get from heathrow airport to guilford on friday morning just wondering peoples thoughts on the best route, i dont have a satnav, so a bit oldskool. thanks carl
  24. ive got a pair of these, i just dont like them at all the fit is like a pair of clown boots, hard to put on ,then hard to lace up properly and still feel like they are about to fall off! ive not really noticed and benefit in the tree either. they dont seem to be 100% waterproof either. then when you get home you have to sit on the floor like a toddler and try and wrestle the dam things off.
