  1. I also try to not give a price untill the app has came back and we can check the specs. Another thing though dont you all get the app mailed back to yourselves, you then hold the app:001_smile:
  2. Or "My truck failed the MOT so the NHS are now using it as an ambulance"
  3. Ahh right you should charge for an app, we do! Its a decent job you can always say you will knock the cost of the app off the tree work price if you get permission, and therefore do the work. (I wouldnt say IF you get the tree job as it might make them think about looking around for other quotes)
  4. I wouldnt mate, it is still something to get annoyed at and has brought up some good opinions on the subject. As I said earlier I would be more annoyed with the customer than the tree firm but thats just me and I respect what others think/feel about it.
  5. They do have a listing for agent but it isnt always filled in. On an app that we have put in didnt have our company name on just my name. It was really slow to trawl through so I only looked at a dozen or 2 but deffo not one tree company name on there.
  6. Sound a good deal to me:thumbup1: Still got a bit left atm but always good to know the cost.
  7. Been an excellent thread and really enjoyed reading it all:thumbup1: Top job.
  8. Thieving scum! Hope you get it back. Something like that would finish me off tbh
  9. A fair and valid point.
  10. Just had a quick look and they do publish both. Surprising the amount of apps put in though! And I thought our TO was a lazy git:blushing: (only jkin BTW in case your reading this:001_smile:) I couldnt see any tree companies names on them though, mainly just Mr/Mrs Jones etc. Although the odd housing trust. Now wheres my headed letter paper???
  11. Just set fire to them the night before:thumbup1: Jobs a good un. Or burn the brash in the street as you drop them, all legal and above board
  12. TBH I would be interested to know if anyone has been done/or knows someone for using red in mogs, chippers stump grinders etc.
  13. Nice1:thumbup1: Whats replacing the 460?
  14. [quote=Ty Korrigan;244207 I got 300euros out of the 474 owed and I still have to return and prune her roses for free... I woulda stamped on them on the way out mate:thumbup1: Or/and fertilized them:sneaky2:
  15. Have a quick look on this thread, its also about 020/200t http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/13509-020t-ms200t.html
  16. Just out of interest is the price the same for 100ft of other pitch's?
  17. Or just dont bother doing anything and use the chain as normal:thumbup1: One damaged cutter isnt going to do any harm and I doubt many people bother to measure all the cutters then grind them back to the same size!! If a drive link or tie strap is badly damaged then thats different and replacing one isnt a problem with the right gear.
  18. They do seem to have a much much larger volume than they look like! Have only ever done a couple of them and its scary how much brash comes out.
  19. Didnt someone post awhile ago that we are supposed to use white in chippers because they are being towed on the road. It was that or something like stump grinders. Although I prob have it completely wrong, a little knowledge an all that:001_smile:
  20. I dont think you can legally use red in a mog, well not for the purpose you will be running them for. May as well just bung it in your landys now:thumbup1:
  21. How do you get to use 1/2 price fuel? The cost of an MOT is only £60 ish on a truck anyway, its keeping things on the road and safe that cost.
  22. I suppose it just boils down to what we personally think is morally right or wrong. I would guess that a marketing specialist would say that someone putting in an app is the ideal customer to target, they have a genuine need for your service. FTR I dont do the above or door knocking but I have done leaflet drops and sent info out to commercial companies. Times are hard and I cant blame anyone in trying to win work as long as they dont cut any corners that I think are unacceptable:sneaky2:
  23. You could be right but threre are ALOT of people out there that door knocking, leaflet drops and contacting works on. I dont see it any different from sending information packs off to construction companies, housing associations, schools, landscapers etc. Its all advertising imo. I'd be more annoyed at the customer tbh.
  24. And how wrong they were Had a few people asking for firewood who couldnt understand how quickly it burnt and how much it cost!
