  1. Sounds like a plan. Might be worth sticking a couple of VigiLEDs next to the rear lights if your out without the chipper.
  2. See my post here about wiring them up mate. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/maintenance-help/9002-led-lights-chipper-3.html Martin
  3. Very nice mate. Are you fitting any fitting any to the back & sides of your 130 to give you a full 360 degree visibility, to comply with the law? Martin
  4. Would plastic electrical trunking be ok for this. Buy a 3 mtr length and chop it to size. Martin
  5. My brake cables had been crimped/damaged at some time & this had let the water in. This made mine sieze. Think it cost me about £45 for bits. Well worth changing/checking. Martin
  6. I've got one of the Able3 lightbars from EVS, but they dont sell them any more. Very good light & very bright, same as alot of the motorway maint guys use. I keep mine locked in the defender till i need it as a mate had his nicked off the roof of his car one night. They turn up on ebay from time to time. Martin
  7. Dean, if there the same as there Vigi Leds theres 3 wire on each light. Red, Black & Yellow. For synchronous operation wire the all the reds together to +12 volts, all of the blacks together to earth and all of the yellows together. To get them to alternate. Connect the red of one lamp to the black of the next lamp to +12 volts, then the black of the first light to the red of the second light then connect these to earth. Connect all of the yellow wires together. Hope that helps. Martin
  8. Watch using Paddocks, last time I used them I had my Credit Card skimmed. There a loads of reported cases on the LR forums of this going on with them. Martin
  9. You want to get a tracker with assisted GPS, this way if it's parked undercover or in a container, it can get a location from the phone network. Martin
  10. Stihl put there price up by X% this year to cover the downturn in the finacial market. Martin

  13. I've got a stick welder & a 170 Mig. Tend to use the mig more as my welds are tidier. Make sure you get a fan assisted one (turbo on some models.) I keep my welding rod's in the airing cupboard. If you go the mig route the small bottles of gas can work out quite expensive. I went to see a friendly landlord & got a big bottle of CO2, works out far cheaper. Have a look at ebay & buy a good secondhand machine. An auto darkening face shield is a good investment, means you get both hands free. Also have a look on here MIG Welding Forum Hope that helps Martin
  14. The detroit locker is a limited slip diff (lsd) & ive heard that people have various problems with them. The KAM diff is an electrically operated diff I believe, so you don't need the compressor. Have a look at LR4x4.com there quite a bit of info about diff lockers on there. Martin
  15. But something else in the system can give & you are stood in the firing line. Id rather not have some thing flying towards me at speed. Martin
  16. It's also worth chucking an old coat over the wire when your winching, then if anything breaks it will help slow the flying cable. Martin
  17. Also try putting a jump lead from the earth of the second battery,to the engine block then crank it over. If it spins faster you need to look at the earth on the second battery. Martin
  18. I wouldn't use ABC Response Training, im still waiting for my certificate from October last year thats after lots of phone calls & emails. Martin

I was told to keep talking to the casualty, telling him what your doing. Serves as a good reminder. Martin
  20. I think you a been zapped by a bunch of local's, that have been given a speed gun by the police. Because they are members of the public you cannot be prosicuted so you get a warning letter. This is what seems to be happening in Staffordshire more. If the local's get lots of results the police then come down & start prosicuting people. Martin
  21. It's a belay device used in rock climbing & rescue work. http://en.petzl.com/petzl/ProProduits?Produit=441 Martin
  22. I would think anchoring the rope at the bottom of the tree, through either a Gri-gri or an 8. Then in the event of an emergency you could be lowered to the ground, as long as your ropes long enough. Martin
