  1. i re-pollarded 4 in a row this March - they were healthy and have no signs of re-growth as yet - client is gonna go mad:blushing:
  2. not sure but its buggered, Mike thought we may have fried it when we jump started it or the extra power of a new battery, or it could be coincidence, they had to make up a new box for us, as the Entec one we had doesnt exist anymore. Plus the new box has to be mounted in a different place - bit of a bugger really, but the part came in today and will be done by next week:thumbup1:
  3. here here, great guys!! Have always been a great help and very friendly! Just a shame Timberwolf cant get my no-stress box made up quicker and they could be mending mine now!
  4. Nope, hated all the stihls i have used, bar the 011 and 200t, have had bad experiences on all others and prefer the accelleration and anti-vibes of the Husky
  5. 357, 15-18" bar, excellent saw, light and powerful:thumbup1:
  6. 395 or 390 all the way, i hate my 660
  7. Thats one of Reg's videos, ask him yourself.....but looks like massive timber, the 200 wouldnt have got through most of them chunks:thumbup1:
  8. I didnt mean it taking the p**s, just that i was surprised how much the wood sitting in the groove holds the tree onto the hinge.
  9. Try a tongue and groove cut on the next side leaner, it really does work well
  10. Anyone see the climber sharpening that big stihl......filing the wrong way?? Episode 2 at 14:01 haha
  11. Got her a card (same one as she bought me!), Jeans, flowers and took her out for a fillet steak.....and received 2 new 50 years of Husqvarna chainsaws hats and a box of chocs:thumbup1:
  12. If the flywheel is the same as my entec 25PH then the bolts go through the blade into the threaded part in the flywheel, so no nuts involved. A good tip i learnt on the farm was to heat a nut/bolt up, then immediately put cold water on it, it will expand and contract the bolt quickly and sort of "crack" the grip that the bolt has, making it easier to remove. Stud extractors are great but i dont think you'd get access with a drill etc (you wouldnt on mine, without thaking the hydraulic motors off etc) I think welding something onto the bolt would be your best bet, or take it to an engineer that has the correct tools. Good luck mate
  13. You must know the bodgers that go by Maple Tree surgery, a lad from college has his yard in a wood in Billericay
  14. the 2100cd on ebay is actually an 80cc, 480cd....so not big enough for what you want it says at the bottom
  15. Havnt had a look on Ebay but i can highly reccomend the 2100cd, great saw, has a manual oiler that'd be handy for milling
  16. wouldnt mind having to spend a night in that.....or the igloo.....nice pic mate:001_smile:
  17. I have a pair of trousers like that.....i save them for climbing rotten trees so the groundies know when i get scared:001_tongue:
  18. One thing i will praise the 660 over the 395 is the chainbreak being a bit stronger as its mounted both sides.. The 660 break would be more robust if you were climbing with it regularly.
  19. I have a 660 and its had a fair few probs, chain adjuster wouldnt tighten properly from new and the oil pump never put enough oil on the bar for more than 25" even when fully opened. I am a fan of the 395XP but power wise there isnt many trees in this country that either saw couldnt manage with some double cutting and a 36"bar
  20. I also went from a Weaver to a treemagic 2 and it is very light, comfortable but does occasionally crush the crown jewels. I have tried adjusting etc but cant seem to get it perfect. Has good tool attachment points and i like the way it has a built in krab that spreads the weight evenly across your back for the saw attachment. I dont really like the small D's compared to the Weaver though and the Weaver was very hard wearing.
  21. The woodland is a few hundred yards from a small narrow road, or across a field to a farm track. I will pass the numbers given to me on to the farmer when i'm back at work in the New Year, as he'll be the one to discuss loading, access on his land etc and price. Thanks for your enquiries and Happy New Year to you all. Ben
  22. From what i can gather all in one go....or maybe 2, but i very much doubt he'd want people taking small loads etc, it wouldnt be worth the hassle for him
  23. It certainly is.....shame i havnt got the room to store much or i'd buy it myself
