  2. Thought it had been hit hard. Its not going to win the perfect Oak 2010 Competition but a little bit of deadwood removal and the odd gander every year wouldnt go amiss. Better to have it then to not.
  3. Yep Its defo an oak and thats defo lichen. But it looks like its been pruned hard in the past from one of those pics. I might be wrong...
  4. Just out of interest it would be good to have a photo of the tree from a little further back. Something just seems wrong (not sure yet)
  5. Nice pics Tom Swiss gardens Per chance
  6. Been using these for the last 5 months and find them great. Equally as good as my last SIP freeedom Trousers. If not a bit cooler. Fit is pretty much the same as the freedom if not a bit more room round the waist (maybe i am shrinking) Kevlar protection on the bits that need it and cut well for grounding and climbing. All in all a great pair of trousers IMO better then stretch airs. I think they come in three colours as well so you really are spoilt for choice.
  7. Just more dangley things to hang off your harness... ... Speaking of dangley things!
  8. Sir , Your argument is flawed in so many ways.
  9. Sounds like you caught Jean on a bad day. Jean and Mac have always been friendly and helpful on the other end of the phone and in person. Wouldnt say that they, or the ISA are notoriously unhelpful

  11. Thats me everytime i go in my office. Love the tool box
  12. We have had no problems with the liros line from Treeworker. Does exactly what it says on the tin. 12mm is good all round lightweight rigging line. easy to pulll light enough to throw. You wont go wrong if your after a small diameter rigging line.

  17. Hi Matt I posted up a thread on here about clearwing borer. try putting Clearwing Borer in the search. I'm not sure how to put a link to the thread. Might be something to cross refrence with.
  18. Thanks for all the thanks guys. I will pass it on to him. Mark. I know what you mean. When i priced both jobs the client in both cases wanted the tree's to look as natural as possible. The first tree had been flat topped in the past and as you can make out the second had been topped as well. We only reduce Weeping Willows after explaining to the clients that they will be calling us back. In a lot of cases I have recomended no work at all. or when the client has a huge Willow in their tiny garden we have recomended pollarding. Lots of places round these parts are built on Very heavy clay soils. So upseting the balance too much can cause problems. Thanks for your comments mate.
  19. Well done mate good luck for the 38.
  20. Just thought i would share some before and after photos of some willow reductions, carried out by our new climber. These are the first few reductions he has completed and with only a little bit of guidance from the ground. Willows are not the most straight forward tree to reduce and i think he did a cracking job.
  21. Pickled onion or beef. I think they just brought out a retro bag with monster munch that were the same size as they were 20 years ago. Yeeehaa
