  1. A certain unsavoury word was replaced in the swear filter by the word ‘babe’ In the example you describe, I think the girls you mention think you are a ‘sexy MoFo’
  2. I am sure it does if the shot placement is perfect. However, most conscientious hunters don't go for a head shot as there is more chance of error or a jaw shot which would stop the fox from eating and starving to death. What is more humane, a swift bite to the neck and guaranteed death or a slow death due to not being able to feed?
  3. Auto correct. Original post has been edited.
  4. If that is the case then it isnt much different from other mechanicals. In direct rope angle exiting the device can influence how the device functions. The Notch instructions even has a explanitory notice and diagram to show.
  5. I think the estate comment was in relation to the upper class being the only people who hunt. Ie upper class toffs. Matts comment was to illustrate that it isnt only upper class who hunt. Yet the rest of the post was ignored and the council estate comment was highlighted. That IMO is the main contributor to the response. That is how I read it anyway. Yes, hunting is an emotional issue. I grew up with an uncle who bread hounds and other gun dogs and helped run the Zetland hunt. My dad grew up as a farm worker and despised the hunt. But mainly from the point of view as they were treated like shit by the huntsmen. Yet my father always said the hounds on the fox was one of the most efficient ways to despatch the fox. I discussed this in person with Matty and his missus one night. The folk who participated in the hunt back then, are a very different crowd from those who hunt today. So the prejudice (my father had and myself to an extent) may have been the case years ago but isn’t the case now. Edit: there are many windup merchants on here. Yes, they know who they are and continue to do so. Pops at other people and pushing buttons to get a response.
  6. I thought it was due to the article in TCIA where a guy took a swing and hit the deck. Apparently his rope was over a limb and it didn’t engage. My issue wasn’t the wearing of the spring, it was gunk from multiple Lime trees getting in. A wash and 3in1 and it was good to go.
  7. Nice pleasant post from what I'm guessing is a nice pleasant man. Matty is one of the nicest people you can meet. Maybe the implied remarks regarding his missus had something to do with the response. I have never met Kevin in person but things did seem to get heated rather quickly.
  8. I have been. Had a little issue with the bird not engaging after a couple of particularly wet, snotty days pruning lime trees. I little wash and a bit of 3in1 Oil and it was good as new.
  9. Have you got a link? What is the problem with the Notch RRPro? Cheers. FTR, I have a couple of the OG RR'ers and a RRPro. Just interested to know what the pallava is all about. Cheers again.
  10. Why wouldn’t you do that? Nothing wrong with cutting a face that big in the right situation. Obviously, experience should tell you when it can / can’t be done. It also looks like a Beech tree to my aging eyes.
  11. @Jase hutch @PeteB
  12. More likely to cut and hold I’d expect?
  13. Have you bought it Mick, or got it on hire?
  14. We are not talking “in lots of trade though” are we? I don’t doubt it in many trades. BUT. Not on trees though, on a daily basis is it? We have established that many times over the years and you keep bringing the issue back to the table. If you think it is doable on the daily? Then, start a tree company and see how long it will last paying people that kind of money.
  15. That’s the point, 400 a day isn’t sustainable.
  16. CSCS - It is very common if you work or have worked in Construction sites or for clients who request it. Eggs, of course 400 quid a day is achievable in London. But every day, 5 days a week, I doubt it. Project or specific high risk jobs or crane work it is doable. But you don’t do that every single working day.
  17. I had it one mine after a particularly grotty week. I messaged Kevin Bingham and he said use some light oil and it was good as new. NB. It might not be the same problem.
  18. I live in Norway mate. It is expensive here. idoubtmy tennant has the knowledge to mine Bitcoin. Plus he is always skint.
  19. It was a tightly packed pallet load. Hardly any air space it just collapsed when we removed the pallet. IIrC a loosely stacked pallet was about 1500 and tightly packed 2000 NOk. Better than some of the mixed loads we got a couple of years ago which was about 70% Goat willow. The rest was a mix of pine, birch and aspen. That was 1500nok two years ago. What’s a Favn? I am not familiar with that term.
  20. The high electricity prices have everyone over at the moment. We have 2 kids who tend to leave lights on everywhere they go, leave the bog door open. The list is endless. In the past the electricity was so cheap it didn’t have much of an impact. Now the electricity price is 10x the lower levels it does make a difference. We also have a tenant in the rental flat under our house. His missus must have the underfloor heat on full blast all the time. Plus he is on his computer all day and night as he produces hip hop. His rent covers bills as well. We have a module in the fuse board that just monitors the usage from the flat. In the past it was so little and so much hassle we just used to charge a fee and include it in the rent. Now the prices are up, maybe it is time to start monitoring again.
  21. Luckily our house is pretty new. Decent energy rating and insulated. it hold the heat pretty well.
  22. How big are they? we have put cones over small single stem whips to be protected that way the climber can see them easily. If they are smaller then plant pots upside down.
  23. Hopefully. Proper expensive now. After the last bill of 400 quid we have stopped using the Varmepumper and make sure we are turning all the light out and closing the bathroom doors. The kids leave them open and the underfloor heating constantly kicks in. Gonna try and get through this month and see what the bill is and work from there.
  24. With regards to sweeping. We burn a lot of spruce and pine in general. The Kommune (council) send someone round once every two years, gratis.
  25. There was 300 crown delivery as they drove from the South of Norway. Norway is expensive in general. The reasons in my other post have also contributes to prices. My electricity bill was 300 quid in September and 400 quid in October. It hasn’t even started to get cold yet.
