So Jesse, I have a question for you. Opinion are good we all have them, good and bad and this is a discussion forum afterall. So would you have gone ahead with a job such as this one, even though you didn't agree on the spec the TO had proposed/allowed? I would be out of business if I refused to do every spec I came across because I didn't think it was right. BTW. I am the Mr Rule, Ross was referring to in the OP. I may or may not agree to the spec but if I didn't do it then I wouldn't get paid.

Nice looking job there mate. Quick question... how do you plan on getting the heat shrink on as you have already formed the eye? I tend to put the shrink on before I pull the eye through. Keep it loose and then once all is good I shrink it up.

I would say it takes 1 to change a light bulb as we are all pretty resourceful. The other 7 will stand around discussing how they would have done it, but better...

I usually refer to missing a bit as my "artistic license".

It is not my job bit having climbed and wounded a fair few of these trees Maybe the tree officer gave permission for the reductions as there was a lot of FB's present and a few cavaties in those trees. They are located all a public footpath with extremely heavy footfall in the summer. Maybe the reductions were granted to alleviate some of the end weight to try Md avoid limb failure in future? Just a thought.

Well if you had read the last line, I admitted my ignorance. I am not having a go at your choice of religion, believe me, I couldn't care less which deity's house you wish to frequent or the code of rules you wish to follow. I do believe you are showing your own ignorance towards your friend and children/parenthood in general. Just so you know if this comes across a bit short, I am typing this with a screaming 21 month old boy. Who has been at it for an hour and a half. In the other room a 5 year old who has passed out after yacking up all afternoon. All whilst my missus has been at a board meeting and leaving party.

Wait till you have them mate, I really do think you are for the shock of your life. Just think how a 4 year old will act during Ramadan? Try explaining that for religious reason you cannot have anything during the fast period. I am assuming that small children follow those rules aswell, if not, there will be plenty of other situations that will make you realise what having kids is all about.

Well, who'd of thunk it? Had a call from school about 11.30. My eldest was not feeling too well and they asked me to pick him up. Luckily I wasn't at work today.

Adam, John's comment regarding a solution to a problem that doesnt exist... He is referring to the fact that everyone harps on about redirect and no increase in friction etc. I do agree with him. Plan your route and the friction is minimized when on Ddrt. Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking it (SRT), some trees I will use the wrench, others I won't.

I was working with Ross Smith today reducing a load of Lime trees in Sandwich, Kent. At one point a cheer went up from Ross and his two groundies... I asked what was up? They were cheering because I was actually using a silky!

Believe me mate, sometimes I want the kids to go school. It is the school that sends them homefor the slightest illness. I had to take my youngest boy to the doctors last week as the nursery said he had Conjunctivitis and they didnt want it spreading. I told them it wasn't and as he had a runny nose it was probably snot he had rubbed in there. They were having none of it. So, a missed mornings work, took him back to nursery and told them the doctor had said it was more than likely snot from his nose that had got in his eyes via his hands...

I use it occasionally for access, but as Matty said, I really enjoy my ropeguide and VT setup. One thing puzzles me though... Both Ian and Adam have said they are not using as much energy, more efficient etc, yet have both gained inches or lost inches due to being fitter. If Ddrt is harder on the body and generally harder work, how has the SRT switch had so many positive benefits? Were you doing the Ddrt correctly.?

They are very different sports. It is just a coincidence that both games are based around chasing an egg shaped ball.

Yup none of the imacs these days come with dvd or superdrive. Why provide it when you can sell it as an add on?

I really do t get why people are worried about it wearing. Just look at the mechanics. It doesn't have a clutch like the SJ or LJ. As the zz wears the cantilever style gripping will just elongate providing the same amount of grip. It is the same way it works for 13mm and 11 mm ropes without changing anything.

My Zing it tangled from new, It was terrible. In fact, I was secretly quite pleased when I lost it. Apart from loosing two Harrison Rockets and a Falteimer cube. When I replaced it I went with the Dynaglide. Not had a problem so far and I have had it about 6 months.

I had some bit unfortunately it failed Loler after a little knick. Great rope but a little soft fr me. I replaced it with another length of Tachyon.
