  8. What you have described sounds ideal. I have never heard of anyone mixing the logs up to promote drying. It may well help, but I think it would be more trouble than its worth.
  9. I think you would also need to include some stuff about vehicle weights, diver hours, operators licenses and the like.

    Muddy yard

I tried the wood chip road many years ago, NOT good!!!! Ended up with a sort of lumpy, muddy porridge, I real would not recommend it.
  19. The thing that makes me laugh is the guys who moan like hell about people who a prepared to cut down their own trees, are the same guys who moan about people who don't want to do manual work. The more people who are not prepared to do manual labour the better in my book, as just means that trades men can charge more.
  20. I would not want to be told to live like them and so will not tell them to live like me. Live and let live I say!!.

  23. They knew him, they knew he would not let them down. As I recall some of the ones who knew him better were prepared to wait while he sorted the less friendly ones such as the VAT man and rates people. He also made a point of keeping them all fully informed of the situation, so they knew he was trying to not pay.
  24. My dad ran the business, it was HE who took credit, it was HE who shuck the bank managers hand, when the business was unable to pay back moneys owed, my dad worked "outside" the business to pay back some of the moneys owed, the remaining dept he turned into personal dept and paid back over the following years. So yes the business did fail, but because my dad knew it was HE who had agreed to the transactions and was not prepared to allow others to lose money because of decisions he had made, even though some of the reasons for the failed business were out side of his control.
