  2. I don't think he is, its called "supply and demand", I think its laudable that you are not going to be directly involved in the supply of the saws, BUT all that will happen is a "middle man" will buy from you and then sell them on.
  3. When was the last time any one was killed by a poorly pruned tree??????????? People are still dieing from Co2 poisoning due to poorly installed boilers, even with all the legislation. IMO, the last thing we need is a load more red tape that WE will adhere too (adding to our costs) and the cowboys would just ignore. More legislation with little or no enforcement, will simply increase the difference in price between the cowboy and the pro, make the cowboy even more attractive to the customers.

I would still do SOME take downs, BUT I would still charge, even if I gave the money to charity.

For me half the buzz of doing BIG trees is the MONEY, its the fact that I make good coin from my ability to get the job done.
  9. To start mine, I just press the clutch and turn the key. On older ones you press the clutch, turn the key and press a button. Mine stops when you turn it off at the key, on older ones you lift up the hand throttle to stop them, so have to push it back down to start them.
  10. For sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We often think we can save a few quid by doing some mods our selves, BUT what people forget is that firms like Schiesling have spent thousands on R&D to get a great chipper that works spot on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. That ain't no lunge!! BUT still a good pose!!!!
  12. Is it on red??? they smoke like a bonfire when cold on red. Have you changed your fuel filters recently??, they tend to collect water, which freezes. If you are on red, when did you buy it??, they only put antifreeze in it in the winter months, so if you buy it in June and use it in December you can have problems with "waxing".
  13. Without it there is no JOB!!!!!!!!!
  14. Apparently you can raise an invoice now, at 15% VAT and complete the work within the next 6 months, BUT YOU would have to pay the VAT as soon as its due, based on the invoice date.
  15. I bet he never got onto the "double Bailey's" like me and thee, mate!!!
  16. Almost ALL fuel has been produced by the sun.
  17. She is a beauty!! well done to you both!!! She will have a hold on your heart like one else on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. It is actually an offense to have an unsupervised guard dog, this country has gone bonkers There is a dodgy crap yard in a town near me, the police had a tip off that there were some stolen cars there. So they went round with some ladders and climbed in over a 12" fence, there was a GSD in there and it bit a copper. The owner of the crap yard got done for having "an unattended guard dog"!!!!!!!!
  19. I have a Schiesling on the front of my mog, they are IME the best front mount chipper available. As Stevie says making up a conversion will always be a compromise. The Schieslings come with quick fit legs, which can be fitted in seconds and then the chipper can be easily taken of and refitted as required. Another problem with converting a standard PTO chipper to fit is it tends to stick out more increasing the load on the front axle.
  20. No there was an old pole saw and a Stihl long reach hedge cutter, the one with the adjustable head. My other gear was else wear. I found his foot prints, he was alone and just took what he could carry, I think.
  21. Just makes me wonder how many other attempts have there been, where Max has seen them off???????
  22. Don't get me wrong I love a nice log fire and have one in the living room, but I only light it if I WANT too. Its the relentless necessity of keeping one going, if its your only source of heating, that used to get too much.
