  1. How long have you been cutting???????? How old are you????????? I hope it's not WF
  2. Had you dropped your pants mate??? Its just they seem to be smirking at you, especially the Lady's
  3. No I'm fairly sure thats been totally disproved now. If glass flows why not steel or stone????? They all become liquid at very high temperatures, but they are all VERY solid at normal earth air temperatures. As above the flowing glass theory came about because medieval glass is thicker at the bottom than the top, BUT this has now been put down to the methods of manufacture at the time.
  4. Nice one Tom, so pleased the hard work paid off!!!!!!!!!!! Well done any one else who passed!
  5. Yes, you need an "operating address" for your "operators license" as far as I know.
  6. So your neighbors can say "Oh no!! you can't park that big nasty truck next door to me!!!!!!!!!!!!":001_rolleyes:
  7. This is true and was until fairly recently thought to be caused by the glass "flowing" down. BUT its now thought that the glass was thicker at one end when produced. The glass was blown and then the resulting cylinder was cut and unrolled, this method of manufacture results in one end being thicker than the other. They put the thick part in the base of the frame as it will carry the weight of the glass above better. Stuff like this fascinates me
  8. WHY???????????? Its not getting old that stops you doing things, its STOPPING doing things that MAKES you old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I put up some bat boxes for the council, we used aluminum nails, so some poor bugger don't knacker their chain in 100 years time.
  10. Not seen such a big nasty one before. The ones round hear are normally, small alloy oval's or the plastic knock on ones.
  11. Aren't cranes BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sounds like a quick way to self castrate to me!!!
  13. NO!!! Thats why I would be a little cautious.
  14. I kept it mate. Its a U1000 with a turbo 150hp engine, so its really a u1200.
  15. I had the same chip box on it that I have now, its the same as the one Stan had, I had two made. I don't think its done a great deal of work, he does not have a proper tailer for it, so it will not have been grafting. My only concern would be how well its been looked after, I'd be droping the oil out the hubs and checking it was nice and clean.

I have spoken to lots of dealers and not ONE sells more huskys than Stihl. They all tell me that they sell far,far more Stihl's than Husky's. So either the majority of cutters are fools, or Stilh offer a better all round package.
  17. Its a really good piece of kit mate, the crane is a de-mount, you can undo two bolts and take it off. Its a U1000, but I had a 150hp engine fitted, so it goes like stink!!
  18. No mate, the guy I sold it to was from over Blackpool way. He is an ex copper hence the "special branch" business name.
  19. This was my old mog, sold her about 6 years ago. Good tool, I only parted with her because I needed a higher payload capacity. Mercedes Unimog on eBay (end time 08-Dec-09 09:53:53 GMT)
  20. COOL TREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to climb for a timber merchant who called the "Spanish Oak" and they are commonly called "Sweet Chestnut" but I've not heard one called "Spanish Chestnut" before, is it a commonly used name???
