  1. Even numbers, ie 024,044,066, are pro saws. Odd numbers, ie 017,019,023, are occasional user.
  2. Thats the one I went for, or should I say my accountant went for.
  3. Heathen!!!!!!!!! That will make some lovely fence posts!!!!!!!!
  4. They both have the same power source, an engine and the same cutting mechanism, cutters. The differences are in build quality and performance, which the two market leading makes you have selected is really very subjective, IMO. Although Stihl is by far the better saw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. That jib will only be controlling the decent of the front of the crane as they lift the boom out of the house. It won't be taking a great deal of weight, just controlling things as the failed crane goes fast the toppling point and back onto the outriggers.
  6. Fantastic pic's David!!! Do you think some one had started felling one of the trees then changed their mind?? It looks like the put in the gob, then went home??
  7. Surely the extra time taken, is more than off set by the cost saving of NOT hiring a crane and having a road closure. As a very wealthy man told me many years ago, "being well off has MORE to do with what goes out than what comes in" I think this job was carried out with OUTSTANDING skill!! There is always "another way" of doing any job, I take my hat of to the skill of all involved in this job and I'm sure they were able to put more profit in their pocket's, instead of paying out for a crane, traffic management and permits.
  8. Do you also do 70 in the fast lane to stop speeders????
  9. AH! I really should look more closely at pictures:001_rolleyes:
  10. Are you not concerned you will loose your account???
  11. Great looking tool!! Is the mog a 1200?? does it run it OK??
  12. Indeed, childish tosser, his dad most never have given him a good hiding
  13. Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the crane, just need a mower now. I reckon it would work for tree reductions too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I find your pic distasteful, it seems to me you are finding amusement at some poor guys misfortune. If he was my boy I would not be happy at your use of his image.
  15. Thats REALLY interesting, I had a theory that the cut stuff was worse than live. I have seen fenced of Yew's that are clearly being grazed, presumably the tree does not produce enough growth within reach fast enough to prove fatal. But I know of 2 cows killed (autopsy's was performed to prove cause of death) by Yew hedge clippings thrown into the field by the home owner.
  16. This one, looks familiar timberwolf pto300 woodchipper 12" ideal for unimog on eBay (end time 25-Nov-09 18:05:08 GMT)
  17. If its lots of different sites and bare root standard's, etc, it should not be to bad. Sticking in 1000's of whips can get VERY tedious.

I think some form of warning may have been in order!!
  19. But is it not true that thats separate to CA legislation. The first post suggested it was the CA that was causing the problem.
  20. Have council put TPO's on all the trees??? The council have NO powers to dictate what you do to tree in a conservation area UNTIL they put a TPO on them. I had a job the other day in a CA, they had notified the council, who sent back a list of recommendations (one of which was a 15% reduction on an Elder. My client thought they HAD to follow them, I asked "have they TPO'd any of them??" "No" was the reply. "So we can do what ever you want" I pointed out
