  1. Shame they did not take better care of the cab
  2. That was actually my setup way back when. Alex got me the mog from germany, he had the crane and subframe in his yard. It was originally a U1000, but Alex put a 150hp engine in it for me, it pulled like a train. The problem was payload, it was only a 7500KG vehicle, with the chip box empty the front axel was 180KG over, with the chip box full the front axel was fine, but the rear axel was 2000KG over I discovered this on a ministry weigh bridge Thats when I sold it and got my U1600, which a 10000KG machine. I'm not sure how many owners it had before Stevie got it.
  3. Have you looked at reducing the weight of the Jensen? Can you remove any parts? does it have its own pump and hydraulic oil tank? I took the pump and tank off my Shiesling, just run the rollers from the mog pump.
  4. Massive chip on her shoulder, unfortunately its not uncommon. As if chain making was predominately about slavery Chain making was a huge and very skilled industry. Just take a look at large ship anchor chains. I get a bit tired of being told to be ashamed of my history, because of slavery. The reality is that my ancestors and those of 99% of the population had no part in slavery and as poor people back then our ancestors often had less value than a slave and if unable to find work simply starved.
  5. Yes, not ideal, you really need to get a front mounted chipper, it totally transforms a mog into the ideal tree bus, IMO.
  6. Why not put the crane behind a smaller chip box on the rear? chassis mounted, not on the linkage.
  7. This is what I meant.
  8. While I accept your doing exactly the right thing. This is a perfect example of how stupid our modern world is and the so call progress Why on earth are they not using refillable containers and getting them refilled? Its utterly bonkers

  10. They were pretty good back in the day, price for the job, none of this hourly rate crap. Way back when, my mog, chipper and operator was £350+vat for a night on the railway, plus £150+vat for me climbing. Martins won the contract, they rang me and offered £270+vat for the mog and operator for a night, I just laughed
  11. IMO, subbing to such organisations is a mugs game, but then there is IME no shortage of mugs.
  12. Just talk your clients into letting the stumps rot away slowly over time

  14. Yes but theres plenty of other work, I really don't need the hassle.
  15. I shall be declining all offers of work from people with plastic grass.
  16. Ouch, how did you do it? Did they offer to take it off to the wrist? I've heard that its supposed to improve your grip.
  17. Arn't all "good" climbers fast? You get "competent" climbers who are steady, but useful, but to be a "good" climber I think you need to be pretty quick, after all "time is money":001_smile:
  18. Would you have climbed it if asked to?
  19. Not had that day yet They can feel really, really odd.
  20. Their always stronger than they feel
  21. And matadores I hate those tossers!!
