You cannot damage or kill a dead tree or branch, so they would struggle to prosecute you. If it is dead, it falls under the 5 day notice rules (DDD) so just serve notice and carry on.

I usually rap some tape round where I'm going to cut it, the cut in the middle of the tape, then melt the cut ends with a fag lighter, spit on fingers and smooth melted bits for a nice finish.

I have been surprised by how good my hands are (after 17 year of tree work) I know farmers and other outdoor workers who's hands are in a bad way, but mine are great.

Yes but you are an arb God who no one would dare ask to work on the normal sub 50 foot trees that are the bread and butter of us other meer mortal tree cutters.

My father has been a joiner for nearly 55 years, around 20 years ago he became allergic to saw dust, causing him a great deal of chest problems. He had acupuncture which he found really helped and he now always wears a mask when machining timber. Despite this he will be 70 next year, is still working and enjoys very good health.

Thats pretty shocking I am contracted in from time to time by other contractors, I have no sign writing and always limit my contact with their customer. I certainly don't give their customer my number.
