  4. Alarm goes off at 6, my good lady goes and makes coffee and cheesy scrambled eggs and tinned plum tomorrows (some times porridge) Sit in bed eating and watching the news on tv until it gets light out, then head into the yard. Generally arrive on site by 9, often pick up another coffee on route. If I'm climbing I generally stay up the tree till lunch, usually around 12. Lunch is a salad with meat of some sort. Most days head home 4.30 to 5 or when dark, whichever comes first. Home made meal is waiting for me most days, today it's a roast chicken dinner.

  9. Any decent hydraulic place should sort you out.
  10. No it was not a gift, it was a test, they were supposed to not eat on pain of death and remain ignorant of the difference between right and wrong. The devil told them it would open their eyes, so they ate. Yet some how Satan is the bad guy not god But that's only if you believe the book
  11. Explain that again skyhuck ( dumb it down even more) learn something new every day Virtually all axles have a diff, the diff allows each wheel to turn at a different speed, which makes going round corners much easier, as the outside wheel effectively overtakes the inside wheel, so needs to turn faster. This also means the diff only drives the wheel which requires least force to turn. You can see this when you jack up one side of a car and engage drive, only the wheel off the ground spins. So 2 wheel drive cars are only really 1 wheel drive, but the wheel that drive swaps from side to side. With permanent 4x4 they simply add another diff between the 2 axles, so now which ever of the 4 wheels that requires the least force is driven. Generally you can lock the centre diff, this then means 1 wheel on the front axle will drive and 1 on the rear axle. To get genuine 4x4 you need diff locks on all the diffs.
  12. How can "he" accept it, he does not exist, he is just a construct of the brain. So is it the brain that will be annoyed. Or have I got it wrong?

    I liked it
  14. Basically instead of an unseen god pulling the strings, there is this brain over which you have no control. It can be a way of shedding personal responsibility. IMO. As for "all" mainstream physicists starting to believe in creation, I simply don't believe that. Do you have any evidence for this remarkable claim?
  15. I quick search on the net soon shows that a great many people have experience negatives from practicing "Mindfulness". I guess if you have a problem that its helping then its like taking drugs that may have side affects and is worth the risk, but if your happy and healthy is it worth the risk?
  16. Both really.
  17. Are you in the YMCA?
  18. But "permanent 4X4" actually mean 1 wheel, front or back, not both. When you lock the centre diff you get 1 wheel front and one back. Unless you fit lockers to the axel diffs you will never get all 4 wheels turning in the sticky stuff.
  19. Obviously I don't chose the thoughts that pop up, if I could that would IMO suggest some form of environmental control, which would be ridiculous. I can however and do decide which thoughts I ponder and which I dismiss. I just don't believe what your trying to propagate. We don't understand how the brain works, so why would we claim it to be autonomous? "I think therefor I am" just because some are not happy with the thoughts they have does mean they are not theirs. Sure I get occasional negative thoughts or worries, but I simply think through a plan of action if the worst should happen and then crack on, knowing planB is in place. The thing about the choosing when to more your hand, our brains contain all the information we call upon to make our choice, the fact this information is pulled together before we review it sounds pretty sensible to me.
  20. I had my two son's and then booked the snip. I went for the pre-op and was told I had a cyst (it had been that way for at least 15 years) they would remove the cyst at the same time, but this meant at least 2 maybe 4 weeks with no climbing. I decided this was not for me. Canceled the snip, organised a scan of the cyst to check it was benign, which it was. 15 years on, still got the cyst, never caused me any trouble and have since had 2 beautiful daughters, who have added to my life in ways I could never have imagined. Got to say I am so grateful I felt I could not afford a month off work
