  1. Another consideration is the actual job in hand, if I were the main climber on a Crain removal with A road traffic management on, and many ground staff, I would be inclined to make great efforts to get another person to deal with things until I was able to attend. Where as Mrs Miggins tree can wait until tomorrow.
  2. You appear to have missed my point entirely. Someone who starts and runs their own company may well be the kind of person who would call a cab or make what ever other arrangements that were needed, IMO it is wrong to expect the same from your employees, this is possibly why they are employees.
  3. Probably for the same reason they work for him, rather than running their own show.
  4. This discussion seems fairly pointless unless what constitutes a genuine emergency is defined.
  5. I would not want one given, awful things, thank goodness for progress.
  6. Many timbers will "spoilt", but this is defiantly Beech.
  7. Each situation is different. In someways the fact that a team have bonded to such an extent that they want to help their work mate get to where they need to be, is a good thing!! far better than them being at each others throats. But if a taxi can do the job and the other lads can crack on, all the better.
  8. A member on here called Rupe, put forward a very good point some years ago. From time to time we all underprice a job, if a customer gets enough quotes they will get a someone who underprices, so a fare portion of work is being done to cheap, this can then drive down what customers expect to pay. Another point it small firms trying to grow will sometimes work at "cost" just to cover wages, waiting for "better times" The bottom line is WE are ultimately in charge of quoting our price.
  9. I think he is buying saw logs, not pallets.
  10. Simply instal a bull rope, then attach to that.
  11. Maybe, but maybe not, if it is the same one and I'm very glad I did not get it, as I would have defiantly have been wanting to use the road
  12. I guess thats a yes then.
  13. You don't don't need to climb a tree to install a high winch line.
  14. I have a 400 on the front of my mog, its excellent!!!!
