  1. What were the chips like?? With a machine that size they should be about the same size of the chips you get with your cod, if their not the teeth are blunt.
  2. The Ash are very late this year, lets hope it just a sign we are in for a great summer. "Oak before Ash" etc.
  3. Had mine for years mate. I'm far to lazy to "trial" stuff.
  4. This is why I would not waste my time calling. Just leaves you open to being beaten down, IMO. Quote and wait, thats what I do.
  5. What are these "hotter" plugs??? My lads 550 would not start once hot, I messed with it for ages, but it would not go. Checked for spark, all was good, but would not start!! In the end I removed the plug from my 540 and tried it in the 550, started fine, so I presumed the plug from the 550 must be duff, I put it in the 540 expecting it not to start, but no it started fine:confused1: Both saws have been starting and running perfectly since All I can think is that the 550 needs a spot on plug, but the 540 is not so fussy.
  6. TBH, we have just parted with our 56 plate disco, had it from 4 months old (was a demonstrator) it had been a good family car, but auto box was on its way out and various experts had warned me that the turbo would be next (body off job:thumbdown:) Replaced it with a land cruiser Amazon.
  7. That seems counterintuitive to me, but good to know
  8. Cool, what year is your RR???
  9. Nice one, did you do it yourself???
  10. That very much depends on whats being offered
  11. Fence your land!!! I have, my GSD runs free. Dogs have two instincts, fight or flight, if you take away flight, they only have fight, chaining dogs makes then scared and aggressive, it should be illegal in my view. I have seen farm dogs that have gone insane on a chain, IMO a bullet is better than a chain.
  12. You need to mix it with timber in order prevent blockage, IME.

    Hedge cutting

I'm pretty sure that this was changed and now you can be prosecuted for "disturbing" nesting birds, be that intentional or not.
  14. Yes, shot blasting and powder coat would be best, IMO.
  15. Nope, just that the test was not long enough for the fault to become manifest.
  16. Projecting there Mick, I'm not trying to "catch people out", simply reading with interest and wanting to better understand I generally give a price and walk away. Very rarely give written quotes, 99.9% verbal, but will email if pressed. I'm far to lazy to chase people up, but I'm sure I will have on occasion.
  17. How strange, are you sure their not just using that as an excuse because they don't want to admit to going with the cheapest quote
