  1. Your missing my point, the saw allowance was tax free so the lads liked it, it did not reflect the true cost of buying and maintaining a saw, it was far too high, but it kept the lads happy and as the Co would have had to pay a higher basic wage without it, everybody wins (except the tax man)
  2. Do you really think their on the books staff would have worked for £5.50 per hour?
  3. Back in the day, 20 years or so ago, I when subbied to Fountain Floristry, I was on £7.50 per hour, their on the books staff were on about £5.50 per hour plus £1.10 per hour saw allowance, if my memory serves.
  4. Sounds like the making of an excellent compost heap
  5. What is this "waste"people speak of??? Woodchip and logs are both excellent products that can be put to all manner of uses
  6. The accountant should be liable for any penalties and interest, but you will have to pay any VAT due, just as you will entitled to any refund.
  7. All servicing is done without lifting the body, its replacing parts where it needs lifting, turbo, alternator, etc, etc.
  8. Unless its got a bit of age about it and the bolts don't want to come out and then there are all the elderly electrical connections that start playing up.
  9. There has always been loads of processors on ebay. There are loads of cars on ebay too, are people giving up driving?
  10. I'm good thanks……
  11. I've just parted with my 56 plate disco, it was a fantastic car, I really miss it. Mine had done 130'000 miles and the auto box was starting to go, could have had it reconditioned for about £1k with 12month waranty, but was warned that the turbo would probably go next, body off job, £2k+, and then the engine would probably blow. I've replaced it with a Landcruser Amazon can't say I've noticed it using much more fuel than the disco, although I never got more than about 22mpg from the disco. The Amazon is nice, but I preferred the disco, it was a great motor to drive.
  12. I think there if 100% rate relief on small businesses where the rateable value is low, so even if it is rateable, I don't think you would have pay anything.
  13. My understanding is they can only go back to the beginning of the year.
  14. I would think not, are they not 7500KG GVW, I think empty they will be getting close to 5000KG. Is there a PTO chipper fitted? another 1000KG+?
  15. You can't say that!!!! He is proper clever you know, much more cleverer than what we are:001_huh:
  16. How do you know??????:001_huh:
  17. Yes I heard that, she is the biggest of the big hitters, so what she says goes, good for her
  18. A hedge is made up of trees, how else would you create a hedge?? I don't get the point of the thread???
  19. I think you are possibly confusing the issue, generally the first meter of land adjacent to the high way is owned by the highways agency. However if there is a wall or fence with the one meter this is normally the boundary and so denotes the change of owner. I've cleared plenty of trees from within a meter of the highway, the owner was billed.
  20. Looks like you have some belting kit!!!:thumbup1:
  21. Disclaimer!!!! for clarification, the above post was a joke :001_rolleyes:
