    My new Hobbs H2

That video is crazy. the bit where you lift the chipper nice work
  2. It wont play for me either and i got so excited by the title! lol
  3. there usefull but it gets really annoying when your trying to move or swing and it's clipped onto a branch. the gate broke off mine. but i still use it as a hook helpfull when rigging and setting up slings and blocks and can't hold everything and means you dont have to mess around opening the gate with one hand and getting what you want off it.

    stump grinding

nice to see you on here winger. I dont no about the other guys on here but i just find stump grinding boring certainly wouldn't want to do it all day everyday. Ok its easier than other stuff but not as fun.
  5. i have tried a lockjack a few times and cannot get the control of it. its all or nothing for me i either go nowhere or so quick its like freefalling. but it wasn't set up as technical as that.
  6. why dont we get a few of us lot to pay him a visit with some saws felling bars axes, sort him out properly i dont think he would come back.
  7. you dont have to wear chainsaw gloves when climbing, you dont have to wear gloves atall. i have some of the timberland pro gloves with the protection in. i hate them would never buy another pair and never wear the ones ive got got no grip on them and to big and bulky. Sticky gloves all day everyday for everthing. much more comfy and alot safer i think.
  8. sent off the form today so im in
  9. definatly good service always been very helpful, very good service!
  10. have you got any pics or links?
  11. omg thats scary. I was told about this video this morning just before going up in a mewp to work over a road, certainly made me think and get well out of the way when vechiles were driving through.
  12. well it sounded right. cheers
  13. I had some lasted about 6 months but wasn't wearing them every day. the sole split and the mid sole was sticking out. i really liked the boots though just thats there bad point and a big one too.
  14. yer but you have probably been climbing for years. you dont have to foot lock into the tree or anything fancy like that do you?

    what vehicle ?

i have been driving at cabstar round this week with a mewp on the back . i really like it. smart little van and pretty nippy. only thing i dont like is the backwards gearbox. 1st is where 2nd should be and its a b!tch to get into reverse. but really like it.
  16. oow i still cant decide, i really want to but dont want to make a fool of myself. is the climb challenging or is it more about just getting around quickly?
  17. I am doing CS40 and CS41. and possibly my CS32 medium felling. and im doing my IPATH mewp course and my trailer test coming up soon hopefully. and may be doing chapter 8 road signing. so its all happening. I will introduce myself if i see you at college.
  18. Im studying a PHD in arb. no only joking im not that clever, im doing a ND forestry and arb at Otley college. Final couple of months left.
  19. if you dont have your trailer license you can still drive with more than 750kg as a learner as such so with someone else who has it. I can also tow the 1 tonne chipper so long as the weight of that and the load on the van isnt more than 3500kg and over the maximum load weight of the van. So bacically I can tow the chipper just with an empty van. this is what i have read from an Ifor Williams leaflet.
  20. my bike specialized big hit!
  21. thanks for the comments guys. i no everyone thinks there girls cars she-landers gay-landers but i would have a defender if i could get insured, it hard work getting insirance at 18 i pay £1400 on a saxo and thats a 1.1 and the running cost is much cheaper for a freelander cheaper tax for a diesel and i have read you can get up to 42 mpg but 36 average.
  22. well i had dinasaurs, all i could find. but last night i had fish and chips. it was an interesting experience. i noticed that they were all looking at me when i walked in the chippy. they then all started acusing me of not paying last time i went in there. and i was like and i was like no not me and they were like yer it was you work at a farm dont you. so i was like even more like and so i was like no im a tree sergeon i dont no wot ur on about and then they went to get the owner and he started questioning me. in the end i managed to get them to realise it wasnt me but i wont be going there again.
  23. cheers matt, i know they also have problems with he head gaskets going. I have seen a real cheap one for £1800 because its dont 180,000 miles so that puts me off that one.
  24. Im after a commercial freelander, mainly because its the only feesable option i have and can get insured on hopefully. just wondered if anyone has any experience of them or even knows of one for sale. cheers
  25. wooow!!!! that thing is humungous!!!
