    Ash tree.

i may be completely wrong here but is that because there opposite growth pattern (i think, wasnt listening to well when we learnt that one) and so when you prune them and they grow back it doesnt look natural. i think im kind of on the right lines possibly, maybe.
  2. should hopefully be at all the shows, and camping at cirencster and possibly APF. havent heard of the yorkshire one before is it worth going to. And will be at the climbing comp in april day after capel.

    Tw 150 Stolen

u will never stop pikies not without being there yourself with a shot gun at them. they will get through anything. when i had my stuff niked the police where quite help full though came and did finger prints there not clever enough to think about wearing gloves in my area. but unfortunatly they hadnt caught them before to have them on record but if they get for them for something else then they will be found and done for it. but still wont see my stuff again. it just makes you so un easy about been seen with equipment especially if a pikie drives past.

    Saw Pod

i dont seem to have the problem of them turning. i used insulation tape on mine wrapping it around the saw sheath and the saw pod so the sheath doesnt fall out.
  5. yes it ran out when i was using it the other day. did you manage to salvage anything from that. or my camera skills not up to standard lol. cool vid though looks a good job.

    Quads

after meeting big A the other day and his cool quad i now want one but think buying a van would be a better idea.
  8. hedges do not apply to conservation areas, they come under high hedges act part of the ASBO thing. A hedge is classed as a row of two or more trees maintained regularly as a hedge so you can claim a row of trees never prunned is a hedge. this is what ive been lead to belive.
  9. thats the otley college method haha! nice vehicle wouldnt mind one myself but hard to find a decent one.
  10. go to the norwich comp if your local. and ring around local companies thats what i did and worked for a bit before going to college by which time i already knew a bit and had my own kit and was climbing.

    stretch airs

so i just want the normal type c ones not the extreme but the extra long ones. are they likely to be much cheaper at the capel show? reckon i could make my hi flex last till then.
  15. Jay

    stretch airs

but there are extreme type c and then type c other ones like yours but all round. i cant see the benefit of the extreme ones. and to be honest they dont look as nice!
  16. not bad i heard that in some places when felling walnut they cut into the base of the stem down into the roots leaving the stem basically standing in a bowl for it to fall which ever way it goes. this meaning that less wood is wasted and the most valuble bit it taken out. have you ever heard or seen or done this?
  17. Jay

    stretch airs

but then i wouldnt be able to go on arbtalk as much!

    stretch airs

so do i go for the extreme ones or the other ones. also heard you can get long ones. im about 6 foot 3 ish (im not that sad to keep measuring myself) so dont no if id need these or not. im tempted buy the extreme ones as jonsie has them on offer. whats the difference between these and the other ones though?

    stretch airs

im after some new trousers and really tempted by the stretch airs but i have seen some called pro climbers some extreme protection and then some others. so i dont really know whats what. I want type c protection. I have hi flex trousers at the moment and love them and would buy another pair happily but i thought id try something new. how do you rate the stretch airs? i dont think they look as comfy or stretchy as the hi flex.
  20. haha i was going to say i think steves should look like that or it did do anyway.
  21. just say then the producer who your doing the work for gave it to you as a pressent then you have no problems.
  22. few of my mates are already planning what there going to do when they finish climbing and there all under 20. there all planning to go to uni so they can be tree officers and consultants after they finish climbing. which makes me think i should think about it to. but im planning to have people running my buisness (which isnt started yet) for me. and ill just take the money and drive around in a mog. haha good plan, i think so!
