    Dead Beech

haha loving the commentary 'that chain will just go bang!!' haha
  6. i have that problem with the velcro i just leave do them as tight as i can which isnt very tight but they stay were there put. i did think about trying to put a leather strap on them instead.
  7. i have one that came complete with everthing. has a snap hook on the end and a really nice grab not a small little hard to adjust thing. its a maxiglisse or something like that. cost about £120 for the lot.

    My spike broke!

well even if it did break in the tree when standing on them i wouldnt have fallen as your weight pushes them against your leg anyway still wouldnt want to try it thought. no there not covered by LOLER they dont really lift of lower i suppose. i was just disapointed in them as they werent cheap and not really that old. still all fixed now, just put a new rivit in and all good now.
  9. the other day i went to put my spikes on, there gecko aluminium ones with the velco straps. got one on fine was doing up the main leg strap on the other when one of the rivets pulled out of the metal bar used to pull the strap back on its self. so i ended up with a bit of cobra bracing around my leg holding the bar in place, worked a treat. just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.
  10. mine seems to rock backwards and forwards nightmare if your on the ground looking up. so i normally have one ear muff down just to keep it still.
  11. i like getting out climbing on the weekend where you can just do it in your own time not worry about losing money if your slow. id never go out by myself though always with someone else. i find the problem is finding the trees though.
  12. you want to get a shotgun with wire on the trigger so when they open the door it goes off scaring the sh!t out of them like in the saw film.
  13. i always try to carry something. if im going to the van to get something i take a load of brash everytime you go up the garden take a load of brash. less backwards and forwards at the end of the day.
  14. could you just make your own soft link with a bit of friction cord and a bouble fishermans that was you could put in straight onto your d ring and your grab.
  15. best thing ive used.
  16. vertex vent, orange one to stand out from the rest of the others.
  17. im heading over to france!! is it really that much cheaper. i heard there is a stihl shop in calias (cant spell that) but just over the water. thought about doing it before but was really sure how much cheaper it was.
  18. im a groundy climber to more a trainee climber as still at college. but sounds pretty much like what your doing. i have a driving license and drive the van at work to and from jobs. i also have my cs 30, 31, 38 and 39. and im self employed. i get £70 a day and a bit more if its a long day. i think this is very fair and im happy on that. But if your reading this chris you can still pay me more if you want to.
  19. i just like my mailon it does the job 3rd of the price of a 3 way and sits so much better than when on a karabiner. i also have a snap hook on the end of my flip line. so much nicer than a karabiner. would never have a 3 way karabiner on the end of it after using the snap hook.
  20. thats a bit cheeky. hate it when people haggle the price and even worse if they do it after the work has been done. i always do all my quotes in writting and post them. mainly so it gives me some time to think about it as im not the most experienced at quoting. but also covers my back for this kind of thing aswell.
  21. no i havent as yet contacted them. i could do that tomorrow actually. cheers mate ill let you know what they say.
  22. aparently it was red verging on pink.
  23. so is this weak link a must now. i didnt have to have it on my climbing assesment. and that was 6 months ago. i just think that you will spend more time trying to sort out your grab and untwisting it that using it.
