  1. Sorry Ian, I've not had a chance yet - had to many other "errands" on the go! I'll nip up on the weekend with a camera!
  2. If you need a trailer for your CS100, go to the classified section, GreenMech are selling two ex-demo and one unused BNOS units!
  3. Hey Andy, Vermeer Uk are the agents for them now, give them a call at their Wellingborough place.
  4. The only time I ever greased a nose was when doing my ticket - never did it before or since!
  5. I'm told that Matt Pearson, formerly of Hancox is a good call if you have Kohler issues. MPS 0121 744 8807 or 07517 473 661
  6. Got a GreenMech 6x9 with26hp diesel that's been through our workshop for £6,550 plus vat that would be a wise investment!
  7. The thing is, John, once you've been there - you have benefitted from the experience. Good to see you the other day by the way, shame that you brought proper weather with you!
  8. If she is an elderly girl, it might benifit from having the blowoff valve setting. Call Jeremy Smithers to get told what pressure the hydraulic set up is.0707825 012261
  9. Morning Mark, it's not mine, it's GreenMech's, so vat will be added. But then, if it is a business purchase then vat can be recovered. I'll do some research today on prices and see what happens.
  10. Of course you'll recognise me - it too will be sign written and I'm getting fatter and balder! I might see you at the next Charnwood do Matt, that is if I get 16 thro the ticket!
  11. Hey Matt, I love the Rodeo but I shoved 60k GBP through that in the 5 plus years and hardly towed more than 1500kgs so why have it when the restricter is in the cab applies for less than a QuadChip? I don't want to pay the "Perk" tax but then I don't want to be restricted or have a high fuel bill either. Rock and hard place springs to mind!
  12. That and the fines for misuse, sheer hassle and a restriction of my working hours and having to keep yet more records of what I do day, night and weekends. We don't know what we shall do with her, private sale? ebay? offers?
  13. Crikes! I had better delete those:sneaky2: That having been said, it is currently fitted with a Parrot bluetooth and a SmartNav system! I might take the 'tooth but the SmartNav will stay (yearly subs required). Thanks for the heads up Ed!
  14. GreenMech are changing my car. I'm swapping the Isuzu Rodeo Denver for a Hyundai IX35 any day now. The Isuzu is April 06 time with full service history at one garage and now shows 262k miles. Due another service in 2k miles but rent and ticket last til April. What is it worth? Any bids? Decent interior, few minor dents and the odd scrape, hardly been off road and still gets 500 miles to the tank (Ave 34mpg). We haven't decided what to do with her yet but I'd be interested as to what you think she'ed get? I have to say that if it wasn't for the Taco issues, I'd have another anyday. Tyres lasted 80k, 110k and currently 72k, clutch lasted 180k but changed due to oil contamination and the seal was replaced under warranty, a handful of bushes done and sundry bulbs changed. That is all!
  15. Mick worked with his stamina, hands and his muscles - he used to keep 3 brickies busy as a builders labourer and certainly humped enough brash and timber for me. He was never the kind of chap to sit in an office, work a computer or "boss" from a chair. He and his family can cope (monetarily) with his circumstances and now looks after the family horses, works at the house work and made sure his children do well at school as well as looking after elderly family! I get what you mean about the Daily Star tho, I'm a newspaper snob myself. I used to buy the Sun for the norks and Telegraph for the crossword!
  16. I had a chap who worked for me who could barely write legibly and whose written grammer was poor, but, what a chess player and he could work out a percentage without looking up from the Daily Star! He was a brilliant worker who respected his co-workers and those who were paying us to work for them. Give me that type of person over a workshy, disrespectful educated person anyday! Mick lost his legs in a diving accident some years ago and hasn't worked since which is a terrible shame.
  17. 090 on a crisp and frosty morning - just so the next village can hear her too! I had a couple of twin pot Echo saws in the early '80s which made a fair scream too.
  18. Shane is still at Homegrown, if you pm me with the a contact number for you, I'll pass it on.
  19. Sweet As! I wish to seller best wishes for a better future!
  20. The Briddons used to do utility work for the then East Midlands Electricity Board when I ran Barrowcliffs. They got side shifted when Barrowcliffs went bump for the same reason - too small to cope against the Blue Machine! I thought that they were still going strong in the domestic tree work thing. John and Lee if my memory serves me right. Why, whats up?
  21. On a paper taco disc, you record name, date, start place and destination and bsically the mileage readings and distance covered. On a digi Taco with a drivers card, how is start place and destination recorded? can you do it with the machine or is it back to the manual records to show where you started from and where you are going to? Expert tuition needed:sneaky2:
  22. I would have thought that a second hand TP would have the same characteristics as any other chipper - just variations on a theme really. If it is road towable, the road gear needs to checked out. I've seen some really ropey used machines that should be taken off the road because they are not fit for the highway. Make sure the wheels/tyres, brakes, suspension and tow head are only as worn as you would have them and that it tows as it should. Check over the engine and drive systems to make sure that they have been serviced to as adequate a degree that your happy with. Make sure that all aspects of the chipping mechanism is worthy of your ownership and that there is no signs of damage or excessive wear to the rotor, paddles, bearings, blades, blade mounts, shear bars, infeed rollers or their motors and account for any replacements or rectification work that is required. I would never buy a machine without running or trying all aspects of the machine and, more importantly, make sure that it does comply with the relevant specifications for its safe use and that all safety equipment works as it should. Check that it is not stolen and that the "seller" is free to sell the goods and will supply documentation transferring ownership to the new owner. I would take a note of the serial number and contact the original supplier to check on the history of known ownership as well. If you are comfortable with the deal then go ahead. If something does not feel right, then walk away and get some thinking time!
  23. Hmm........................An experienced dealer of equipment doling out a big chunk without any checks? Why do I feel that something is amiss? People in the trade can usually smell a bad deal from across the market square! I'm glad you weren't taken for a complete ride and recovered your asset.
  24. Just for those who don't look in the "News" section, the GreenMech dealer for parts if the South West are having some open days this week. Have a look at the GreenMech web site and click on "events" and see where Medland, Sanders and Twose are to this week and come and see GreenMech and what else MST do.
  25. When I changed from film to digital SLR, I went to my local camera shop and asked the expert/enthusiasts. I avoided the Curry's of the world and could not be bothered reading a load of magazines. They local buff listened n to what I had to say about what I needed a camera for and what budget I had and gave me honest advice. It may have cost a couple of quid more but I was comfortable with the sales speel.
