  1. A couple of LDV trucks I ran years ago had the hot water going through the filter housing before it went back into the radiator too. Another truck I had also used a "liquidiser" to smash up the waxing fuel to make it more fluid.
  2. There is a difference between a chipper and a shredder. Go to the GreenMech ebsite, click on "technology", then "chipper and shredder" and then read on! Oh, and have a look at the "used Equipment" bit too.
  3. There is one or posts on this subject....... Try looking for Gloria the GreenMech or The Wee Chipper Club. Seriously, what are the criteria. New/Used, towed or carried, main stream or oddball, outright purchase or financed, chipper or shredder?
  4. I got loads:sneaky2:
  5. Those king of rear arches can be had from a trailer place. We buy hundreds every year to fit to chippers and they comer in different styles and sizes.
  6. Good catch Lee, how did you cook them?
  7. Thanks Dan, still cannot sharpen it that much tho! Sorry you feel that way David, I wish I could so something about that, but your opinion is your opinion.
  8. If the bearings are stuck to the shaft (often happens as they are a tight fit), smash the casting with a big hammer then use a micro disc (really thin) to slice into the high speed steel of the bearing itself. Smash off the outer race and balls then delicately disc into the inner race without going into the shaft. Then use a chisel to break open the inner race and be very careful cleaning up the shaft in readiness for the bearings. Use "bearing fit" to "glue the bearing in place as well as using the collar.
  9. I don't think that there is anything wrong in "off roading" especially at an organised venue where no damage can be done to the natural rural environs in the name of fun. In my opinion, "green laning" should be permitted to ensure that the byeway is kept open but the activity should be halted if the trackway is impassable by a 2 wheel drive or at least a vehicle without the diff locked and wheels spinning and your towbar being used as a plough. Relatively few people re-instate or repair any greenlanes or byeways after being used for purely recreational purposes. I enjoyed getting my Landrovers etc mucky but thought it was irresponsible doing it in the name of fun. I would prefer it if people who wanted to get all wet and dirty, did it in a quarry or some such.
  10. We looked at it several years ago but thought then that it did not add value to a road tow machine for the costs involved. If you do a lot of work where you can get a machine but not a truck behind a house then a tracked machine is far better option or you buy something like a CS100 and push it about. Possible even a compact tractor and a tractor powered device is an option too. You have to remember that a caravan isn't that heavy and these devices are not for "off road" at all. It has been done and fair play to those have done it but as a mainstream "cost option" it did not pan out.
  11. Well done to the lad. You have every right to be proud! Shame it wasn't for the Tigers:sneaky2:

    Louie Spence!

I'm not known for liking "dead head" tv and the people in it! Just called in a a branch of WH Smith to get a car magazine and a book for my daughter. Big queue outside so I side stepped that and walk down the shop wondering what the fuss is, when a big chap stopped me and tried to push me down an aisle! "We need to keep this area free" he says, I reply "I could not be less interested in the live's of the rich and fatuous, and furthermore, why should I make way for an effeminate dancer who has done nothing to enrich my life? In fact, his presence here makes my skin crawl!" There was a silence then my daughter dragged me away. I cannot abide the fawning butt licking that these "celebrities" expect. Rant over.
  14. No John, I would think that it was away before the theft was discovered. Like a load of other stuff never to be seen on these shores again.
  15. One of my wheelie bins is rated to 89dba whilst the other is 99dba! Wow, I did not know that things in LA land were that anal! What's yours rated to and what is it doing to get such a high rating?
  16. What did you watch Roger? I've not seen Pacific so I could not comment! BoB was epic tho.
  17. I had one as a reps tow tug. It did 264k in five and a half years, main dealer servicing was priced right and my dealer was very helpful. It was supremely reliable and quite economical to run getting about 34mpg over a tank which I used to get best part of 500 miles out of. I have never liked push button 4x4 controls as shaft wind up meant that getting it back into 2H was sometimes difficult. But other than that and the bloody taco, I'd have another tomorrow! I sold mine for £3,250 +,vat and she went to Cyprus.
  18. Your yoof knows where there is a tasty chippy too! Cheers Ian.
