  1. Hey Nick! I was trying a 130 with some dealer staff recently. What a bloody good machine they are for the money, serious value! Welcome to the club!
  2. I would advise taking them to a GreenMech dealer but the instructions are available as a pdf for you to take to an engineering company if that is your thing.
  3. When you have as many machines as we have in circulation, it would be impossible to service and supply every owner and keep on top of the accounts. Hence we took the decision to set up a dealership network to look after the sales, service and supply chain. Some people get on with it, others don't. We recently did take on Orange Plant to represent us in these areas; Dumfries and Galloway, Cumbria, Northumberland, North and East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, North Wales and North Staffordshire, The Wirral and Merseyside. If you operate in these areas, please contact them, otherwise, please contact your dealer listed on our wrb site.
  4. Forst bearings twice the size of GreenMech bearings!?! Hmmm....Who said that? I wonder what that was about.... I would always prefer to sell a machine on IT'S merits and the merits of those that your are buying it from.
  5. Don't see why not Dean, there is a reason that it is seen more often than Bandit. The SafeTrac is an extremely safe platform for getting a bloody good chipper across varied terrain, or quickly across smooth terrain. Ian, I'll get a a 130 petrol on the car next chip day and you can chuck some stuff through that!
  6. What is wrong with Overland? Try the factory or a german distributor or the lot in Ireland.
  7. They are still brought into the country by Predator in Henly on Thames. Often did creep, finding neutral was difficult. On mod I did come across was to move the brake levers from pointing down to pointing backwards and havin the cable come through the top! Less chance of them getting damaged then. Out of interest, I'll ask the facrory if we have any spares at all keft on the shelf!
  8. Thorne Engineers, Alan Mason, Earborist, Arbtrader to name a few. Some woodchipper dealers whether they be GreenMech, Timberwolf, Jensen, Bandit etc are another source. Some have used machines in stock as well as selling new kit. If buying a used machine, please check the provenance before you hand over the wedge. I know of at least one stolen GreenMech being offered for sale right now.
  9. Leave it as garden art! Spalted beech does look good but, looking at the form of the butt, she isnt good structurally inside. Getting her out and to the mill would outweigh her value too. Probably best for firewood or small scale turners and so on once dried!
  10. Rich, sorry you cannot get. Please let the office know - your pkace can be filled. Come up another time.
  11. You dont have to come with the local chap! Come on your own, bring someone with you, anyone with a desire to see how stuff is made will do.....email in to [email protected]
  12. Just a reminder that this is by invitation only! We are having to consider further days as there are a lot of subscribers but we cannot cater for "walk-ins" due to H&SE considerations.
  13. Actually, is "self employed" a defence or an excuse to use a non-compliant peice of kit? Could I use a chainsaw without a chain brake or AV cage and claim on my insurance for white finger after knowing it was potentially bad for me? From the height of infeed, it may well be compliant in that measure, but, it may be short of an emergency stop.
  14. The settings in the "no stress" box can be adjusted, as can the roller speed. Sometimes the settings can be reset to a different setting to suit your own preference! Talk to your supplier. Winches can fitted in a cradle fitted to the chassis rails that also carry the fuel tank. Retrofitting is possible, again talk to your supplier if you need one. Welcome to the family!
  15. Exenco, brought into the country by Jim Wilkie. He later imported the Schiesling range and rebranded them as Premier. The Exenco was a cheap macine alongside other imported machines from Quichchip and Turner International. The engine was a Ford D Series and the worked well enough providing the blades were sharp. It probably does comply with reach distances but I wouldn't want to use it! Nice find, anyone else got old pictures or pictures of the old kit?
  16. Could have fooled me!
  17. Richard Court would give you an honest opinion, Court Forestry Engineering or something like that. Anyone got his number?
  18. You cannot compare the two. One was designed to be under 750kg with 34hp and a 6x9" gob, the is over a ton with a 7.5" opening and a 35 or 45hp engine! Nothing in common to compare to be honest. One has flat blades and the other has the epic round blades! I'd get a GreenMech any day of the week!
  19. Get the wench out to work! seriously, as said, event sites are ludicrously expensive and hard to staff. Think of training, certification, insurance, business hours etc.... I did once come across a mobile chippy that did rural villages etc and was happy doing thursday evening, friday evening and saturday day in South Notts, East Leicestershire, Rutland and East Lincs. Regular route and steady income! Near to me there is a mobile pizza van with stone lined oven which is wood heated too! Good luck with your enterprise!

    Jokes???

Nice one! I'll remember that for a colleague or two!
  21. Leading manufacturer of wood chippers and green waste shredders, GreenMech Ltd, has announced the appointment of Orange Plant as a regional dealer. Newcastle-upon-Tyne based Orange Plant currently has seven depots around the country engaged in the sale and hire of arboricultural equipment and has grown rapidly since its inception 10 years ago. Both companies see this carefully thought out link-up as a major step in the growth plans each has in place. “Since 2001 we’ve been exclusive to Timberwolf products,” said Joanna Chapman, Orange Plant’s MD, “but whilst we’ll continue to carry their machines in our fleet, and provide service support to machines we’ve sold into the market, we decided to switch to the GreenMech brand. The innovation they’ve brought to the industry will see new markets opening up for us.” Keith Hutchinson, General Manager of Orange Plant agreed, “We spent a year evaluating their product range. What attracted us to GreenMech initially was the level of innovation in their machines, especially the performance and reliability.” Currently Orange Plant not only sells Wood Chipping, Shredding & Stump Grinding machinery but also operates a fleet for the hire market with in excess of 150 wood chippers alone – believed to be the largest fleet in the UK. Signing the agreement on behalf of GreenMech was their Sales Director, Martin Lucas. “This is a significant step for us,” he said, “In Orange Plant we have a company with vast experience in the Arb market that can help us design tomorrows’ machines that will bring additional benefits to Tree Surgeons, Contractors, Groundsman and Local Authorities.” GreenMech, formed in 1993, have long been at the forefront of a range of British built wood chippers, green waste shredders and related arboriculture technologies. The company, known for an after-sales service second to none, takes great care to ensure the specification; performance and price of their designs make for low operating costs. Few manufacturers can boast the background and experience of the GreenMech Team. In recent years this resource has seen the introduction of the revolutionary Disc Blade that can give up to 6 times more blade life and the award winning SAFE-Trak technology that allows access to difficult terrain, like road and railway embankments, with the operator out of the danger zone. For full details of your local GreenMech dealerships, please go to GreenMech | wood chippers and green waste shredders for arboriculture, forestry and groundcare contracting services and find your dealer in the dealer locator or contact Orange Plant on 0845 838 6337 or contact GreenMech Sales on 01789 400044.
  22. Blower! Top tip Mr Blair! Top Tip!!!
  23. I was looking at the sand on the engine mounting plate and wondering what happenef! What was the story? Recent floods?
  24. Welcome to the Wee Chipper Club!
  25. I tried it last year on different species of Apple, and also other trees, like Poplar and birch. Caz and I spent a morning taking cuttings and trying to graft them in. Not one bugger grew! I did think of the bird idea, but dismissed it that time. Maybe it ought to be tried with her Peking chucks?
