  3. the rescue pod looks a little like the launch pods from the running man film...... seriously though, its great to see them all out safely, i spent 3 months there some years ago and they are such a warm and welcoming race in my experience....
  4. you will struggle to get hold of this, cos there seem to be a lot of small hatchback cars advertising the fact that they run on in nowadays.......
  5. or Rimmer bros
  6. congrats mate..... enjoy the journey.....
  7. i dont think the new mizers have any extra features to the one at Riseholme Dave. is it still going strong?? i used to love playing with that... do you still have that ancient pto chipper there??? that IS a death trap.....
  8. give this a try, really cool and no adverse effects...... works best on google chrome apparently.... The Wilderness Downtown
  9. we always used tordon for jkw, broadsword was the one we used over grass. nothing seems to be 100% watch out for watercourses too as that can dictate what you use, and it does have a habit of growing near water.... round here it seems to be overtaken by himalayan balsam now which is just as bad.
  10. Twistedtwee

    Kev..

  11. this one will be a good 36" at the base i reckon... and dead straight up to around 18 feet.
  12. i can get pics if i remember.... didnt get any today cos it was a pressure job on a busy road not far from the fire and ambulance stations, so we had to be done as quick as safely possible. the main stem will be sold to a small specialist mill not too far away, and some of the other big bits will go to a local carver... the rest just join the firewood pile of a local producer.
  13. felled another of Lincolns mature (60ft+) elms today.... think it only leaves us with around 10 surviving.... we are averaging around 2 a year so that would mean they will all be gone in 5 more years.... such a shame...
  14. i had to do some in stoke a couple of years ago.... found some info online.... dont know if they ever took though as i changed jobs not long after... has quite a long germination period though if i remember correctly..

  16. my one complaint about my iphone is its lack of ability to just use its music library for ringtones.
  17. Hi Dave.... i need mine doing too if you find anyone local....
  18. we have a 9 tonne one at work... cant remember the manufacturer, but a word of advice would be pay a little extra for an autospooling one as the handle on ours which makes the cable spreads evenly over the full width of the drum, is damn near impossible to move when under tension, otherwise its a great bit of kit.
  19. hasnt affected our work load on LA contract, but last 2 weeks on street trees on a local council estate has brought problems with kids hanging round in gangs... i did manage to get some new padlocks out of the boss though...
  20. could try a skateboard with an eye bolt in the middle for the rope to run through. let the skateboard run along the wall top
  21. my first is coming up to a year now and number 2 is well on the way. Due date exactly a year after Noah....
  22. The Lincolnshire Firewood Fair 2010, Scrivelsby Estate, Horncastle, Lincolnshire. for anyone who may be interested. looks like it may be a little bigger than last year.
  23. I'd go with Cockspur thorn too. Nasty looking thorns.
  24. scout activities and family mainly, shooting in season, but no pics of that.
  25. sounds like it will be a name of a woodland on campus to me, we had similar things on our campus.
