  1. If your rope's an arborists rope, then you probably don't need to worry about abrasion from rubbing on branches. The rope moving could damage the bark and cambium of your trees. If you're only climbing occasionally, then it probably won't matter much. It's up to you. As pointed out though, it's easier on your body and more fun if you use something to reduce the friction at the crotch. (Giggedy)
  2. There's a beech 5m away from the Crataegus which has Meripilus also.
  3. A competent tree inspector should advise on the urgency of tree work required. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Your neighbour has a duty of care to ensure their trees aren't in a position to cause injury or harm. I'd ring them up or call round and inform them that the tree needs to be inspected by someone who is suitably qualified. I'd also notify them in writing/email of your justified concern, possibly sending photo's too.
  5. Have a squizz at this: https://www.mosi-guard.com/articles/insect-bites-in-the-uk-identify-what-has-bitten-you-with-this-ultimate-guide
  6. One must be cautious when it comes to assumptions...
  7. You put your CV on the end of your publicly available tree reports. Hence the comment on your level of education.: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=9&ved=0ahUKEwib0PLM9IHWAhXoCcAKHR95DWcQFghVMAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.menheniotparish.org.uk%2Fmp_live%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2014%2F05%2F20140430-PTI-cover-Merrymeet-play-area.docx&usg=AFQjCNHtG0WIu5H5YAhLnPa6sNzAIvSGHw You back Matelot (Also a sailor) up alot. From Your own CV: "Intimately involved in the planning, execution and recovery of weapons, equipment and personnel, Kevin was Invested to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the 2000 New Year Honours list in recognition of his outstanding contribution." I can only go on what I've failed to research . As is anyone's inalienable right. Seems like I'm not the only one...
  8. It took me all the effort I could muster to put things in terms you'd understand. U OK Hun? XX.
  9. You upset me. You obviously have more than a basic level of education, yet you perpetuate disharmony based upon race. I can only hazard a guess that this is because you consider the UK to be superior to other countries you've worked in whilst gathering your title. That's fair enough, but you must understand that not everyone has been indoctrinated to hate people in the same fashion as yourself. Ergo, your arguement has little to no merit.
  10. You do realise that 'Alt right' Is a construct from Hillary Clinton's camp? It's an acceptable way of saying neo nazi (alledgedly). There's no such thing as an 'Alt Left'. You're getting the Black Bloc confused with non violent, reasonable people who think that predudice on the basis of people's skin is a bit of a melt trick. Unlike the blatant nazi's you'd happily scuttle upto to to endorse their vile stinking beliefs.
  11. Nope, facists are incapable of reason. Ergo, they should be punched by any able bodied people they haven't labelled for genocide.
  12. You're just lemon that I'd drink you under the table.
  13. I have a dedicated bookcase. Before long I'll have another...
  14. Sinclairs' book looks really good. Thanks. I agree Watson's isn't really an ID book, but I think it helps to have some arboricultural knowledge when looking at pests and diseases.
  15. Bolam wins.
  16. You seem to glamourise the far right. You should be ashamed to endorse the views of such a vile human being.
  17. As above, These are worth a look too:
  18. Mark J

    Jokes???

The creator of sexual innuendo died today. His family are taking it hard.
  19. It's cool how things know which way is up. In much the same way that cambium cells 'know' which kind of wood to create depending on their orientation.
  20. Mind boggles...
  21. I can't believe I need to explain this but here we go just for you: To say all Muslims are rapists is racist. To say some Muslims are rapists, isn't.
  22. If you don't already have it, buy "Principles of Tree Hazard Assessment and Management" by Dr David Lonsdale. Memorise it. It's a very tricky course as it should be. I'm awaiting my results. I don't think I've passed despite having ten years experience and a Foundation degree in Arboriculture, Make sure your fungi ID is bang on. Good luck and prepare for round two.
  23. As I said a few pages back, I know people who have been personally involved in the recent case of gangs of predominantly Pakistani people raping white women. Believe me, we're not shyying away from confronting the situation for fear of mentioning race. We just don't like racists.
  24. You're both more than welcome to come up to Newcastle and voice your opinion...
