  1. Choose your battles. Accept that there's some scum out there. Protect your kit as best you can. Don't go to jail over a chainsaw.
  2. The beech is in the middle of nearby woods, it's one of my favourite trees. The other one is on a hedgerow ash in the other direction. Hungry fungi.
  3. That's bolivian marching powder in action. Not the moves of a person who's been drinking all night.
  4. I think that 'Stonemouth' is the best of his fiction. He only wrote fiction in the first place to finance his sci-fi writing. 'The State of the Art', is an amazing book. If you're into that kind of thing.
  5. Was the first Iain Banks book I read. Thanks to that, I've got a shelf full of his stuff.
  6. Thay seems pretty healthy They appreciate the value of tree workers over there.
  7. Liar in Chief: https://www.newyorker.com/news/letter-from-trumps-washington/trumps-escalating-war-on-the-truth-is-on-purpose
  8. 25 Euro an hour for a competent groundie in Germany.
  9. I've got connections in Rochester, I can send you their details if you like.
  10. I met this olive tree in Vouves (rhymes with boobies) in Crete.
  11. ForestBoy, I'd learn the ropes on a prussik, you could even push the boat out and use a split tail and a blakes hitch. If you're concerned about rescuing someone, then you'd be best off knowing how to climb on the equipment that will most likely be there. Push comes to shove, you've got the three knot system. Once you're comfortable in the canopy and can tie your knots in the dark, then venture onto other things. When working with trees and ropes 'clicks' you'll be in a much better position to explore different methods of working a tree.

  13. He can't be much of an 'Enemy of The State' if he got bail.
  14. That's pretty messed up.
  15. I was taking the question from the article. There's no doubt that the Israeli state are racist, I was just wondering what other people's thoughts were.
  16. Apartheid regime or not? https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/middle-east/un-report-says-israel-a-racist-state-and-apartheid-regime-1.3012189#.W1X38gA3DoE.twitter
  17. Aye, listening to someone who knows their stuff, on the phone to the Rev is an eye opener. Good accountants are worth their weight in gold.
  18. If you're at a college, then you should seek out 'Student Services'. They'll be able to help you out.
  19. I reckon that it's more productive to run small bars on bigger powerheads, until you get into the big stuff. A 576 with an 8 pin sprocket and a 15" bar is a joy to behold.
  20. Absolutely. The Rev like to go after the easy fish.
