  1. He's stereotyping like some loony leftie. Just because you have a lot of time on your hands and you spend it trolling an arbsite, doesn't make you workshy. Shame on Him and Corbyn the bastard. Go Wesp.
  2. I also did a bungee jump full of medicine at a rave in Rotterdam. That was pretty exciting too. But mostly DMT in terms of exilharating fear and wonder.
  3. Just remember to look up occasionally.
  4. There's been a school shooting in the states every other day this year, according to statistics. Must be nuts living over there.
  5. I'm the one with the receding hairline:
  6. Rocked up to a job with a broken toe.
  7. Again, you're doing yourself a disservice. You should be leaving the branches attached to the tree and informing the client that you've finished and that it will green up again nicely. Post payment, of course.
  8. Again, your missing out a trick by refunding their deposit.
  9. You're missing a trick there John. I usually drive them to cashpont before we start. Keeps the tyre kickers in check.
  10. Rekindle an old thread:
  11. +1
  12. I clearly rememver as a kid expecting a bin to explode in shopping centres because I'd heard all about the IRA blowing things up. You can't prepare for things like that, so there's no point living your life in a heightened state of awareness just on the off chance.
  13. That's kin awesome. Cheers.
  14. Thanks for the explanation and history. 'Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace', it sounds like something a bad salesman would come up with.
  15. It's a less than ideal state of affairs. What's a 'SANG'?
  16. Sprores are everywhere mate.
  17. I'm about to read more about the tradegy of the commons, thanks for that. I was mainly thinking of inner city parks, which are usually pretty busy places anyway. I agree that quieter places should stay that way.
  18. I think that it would be difficult to enforce. When it comes to park usage, I'm fairly sure that rock concerts etc pay a fairly hefty bill for the hire of the park. I think that anyone who is using a park for business purposes which prevent people from otherwise enjoying the park, should have to pay for the use of it. I don't think a personal trainer, or a musician or dog walker etc should have to pay for using our recreational spaces. Many of our parks were restored through grants from the heritage lottery scheme. This restoration made them more desirable places to be. The Councils budgets are squeezed, and they just can't afford the upkeep. The Government should be providing funds for the upkeep of our green spaces. Relying on 'Friends of...' groups isn't sustainable. The way things are funded could do with a reassesment too. It is often easier to get money to build a new path than it is to get the funds to maintain an existing one.

Where abouts are you based, and how messy are the nights out?
  20. Great project. The implications for speeding up the enhancement of biodiversity are potentially very useful.
  21. Excellent shots. They don't seem to have suitable conditions in the north east of the UK. I'm looking forward to encountering them somewhere though. I posted that as the maps were being posted.
  22. He's not me mate, why not tweet him yourself and see how you get on?
