  1. Yes they do but not on a stove with a back boiler. You need a temp on the top of the stove of approx 200 degrees, back boiler stoves don't normally see 100 degrees on the outer due to the water jacket
  2. Most of it very useful but please avoid the like for, comment for, share for type polls. I do however miss the Jonesie family pics and what he had for lunch....:001_tt2:
  3. It's fairly easy to be honest Agriculture - you work to make a product to sell (crops, meat, milk, etc) Forestry - you work to make a product to sell (timber) Horticulture - you work to make a product to sell (plants) Tree surgery / grounds maintenance- you provide a service to a customer. You are selling time and expertise not a physical product. I have spoken to the authorities about this recently as I nearly bought a mog with chip bin. You basically have to treat it as an hgv. There are a few people who have in writing that they can run as ag registered and on red but this is utilising loop holes or not telling the whole truth when talking to the authorities. These letters would also not be transferable to new owners. It's not a tractor as by definition they push pull or power but do not carry. You are not (generally) carrying your own materials so can't compare it to hauling hay which as a farmer you would have grown for your own use. Note this refers to a mog with chip bin. A mog with hiab and no chip bin would be different
  4. The biggest transition is with tree climbing you keep the system tight use it to your advantage and rely on it for work positioning whereas with rocks the system is supposed to stay slack and be there as fall arrest only
  5. If they want it they will have it. The principle of most security items is to act more as a visual deterrant to make the would be thief move from your kit to someone elses. I bought the simplest one to fit whilst also being insurance approved to ensure that staff would actually use it and not leave it on the truck because "we will only be 2 minutes".
  6. Viking 6 series - something like Viking MB650VM petrol self-propelled wheeled rotary lawn mower (48cm cut) We have run one for 3+ years commercially cutting probably 20 hours a week during the summer without issue
  7. We are looking for a full time PAYE employee to join the team at Stephenson Trees and Landscapes Ltd. We are a small company of 5 people working towards AAAC. We run 2 separate teams (trees / grounds maintenance) and have a vacancy coming within the tree team. The ideal candidate will be age 25+ and hold a full UK driving license so they can share the driving although all applicants will be considered. The ideal candidate will hold CS 30/31/38/39 as a minimum although training would be provided for the right candidate. Our work is all local and 80% domestic. For more information please contact me on 07867784521 or email [email protected] Thanks Kevin
  8. Jon, As a governor at a local school you would be surprised how little money some people have or are willing to pass to the school. It is hard enough to get parents to pay for school dinners and school trips (both educational and year end fun trips) never mind what would be seen as a luxury. An awful lot of school fund raising through Christmas fairs etc goes back to the general running and upkeep of the school.
  9. I don't buy the magazine, if you could copy the details it would be much appreciated
  10. Message PeteB on here, he told me the differences not long ago (there aren't many) but 4 blades vs 2 is the main one I think. The quadchip is so called because of the 4 sided blades I think
  11. clay shooting followed by beer, a curry then more beer
  12. ......and Mr Plogs had just decided he needed a new pick up:001_tt2:
  13. that's essential, must also carry 4 lads. 3 tonne of chip, all my kit, be thief proof and under 3.5 tonne
  14. 18 months ago mine cost around £150 plus the council charge
  15. A lad that works for me did the course a month or so ago. Some days he couldn't count the fingers on one hand and he passed it no issue. The paperwork I have seen makes it easy and lays all the calculations out for you on a sheet where you just need to write set numbers in specific boxes and do the calculation shown.
  16. Standard ride height or even drop it an inch. Super heavy duty springs. The higher you lift it the higher you need to lift each log you load onto it.
  17. I have a job which is outside my normal operating area and I need to dispose of 2 possibly 3 loads of hardwood chip this coming week. We are working within 200 meters of the motorway junction so somewhere local to this would be much appreciated. Willing to line your pocket if required, chip truck is a land rover so access not usually an issue. Please contact me on 07867784521 if you can help. Regards Kevin
