  1. I've got a portawrap sat doing nothing, been used on one job and it got put somewhere safe, that safe I couldn't find it when we next needed it so bought another. Could swap for the rescue kit spikes, send me a PM
  2. That's certainly a part of it, you try landing in New Zealand waiting for a hand out. If you do go to Aus/NZ you are also on financial probation for I think its 2 years. Basically if you can't prove you will be adding to the country and not draining it you can stay otherwise it's back you go. Relatives must be sponsored by family if they wish to stay and are not given state hand outs.
  3. A refugee is supposed to claim asylum in the first port / country they reach. Most are not escaping purely for their safety they want a better life and I am sure if I were in the same situation I would want the same. They (most) are ILLEGAL immigrants when they reach the UK yet they are given homes, money, healthcare, etc. However this country has major issues that need resolving before we pile any more on our plate. Numerous homeless, drug and alcohol dependants, starving and cold elderly people, children living in poverty, massive unemployment. We need to shut our borders to all people who do not bring something positive that the country needs. Housing should not be provided, healthcare should not be free and cash should not be given out. I know these are harsh comments but why for example should my grandparents both work their entire life, pay a boat load of tax and save their whole working life have every penny and the house taken from them in old age for specialist care for one of them in a dementia home yet they share it with someone who has come to this country as a dependant of an illegal immigrant who gets identical care for free? We need to get our house in order as the current rate of economic immigration will sink the country. I know the migrant crisis won't wait for us but something needs to be done to ensure refugees are helped (preferably in their own country) and illegal economic migration is stopped. Let the abuse begin!!!
  4. Look for Oakdale NE Ltd, outstanding company
  5. Just to add to the comments above, a very informative day. I learnt a lot and will be pushing hard in the right when I have done my homework.
  6. I've always wondered if this is false advertising under the trades description act. Who decided it was 4 portions?
  7. google search for the crank case gives honey brothers at £150ish or phone one of the other suppliers on the side of this forum for the same part but cheaper!!
  8. I bought one of the first ones out purely because the 201 was shockingly bad at the time and I needed a new saw. It's paid for itself and I will likely get a new 201 but in a year or 2's time will I be in the position that the electronic controls are playing up and I get told I shouldn't have bought one?
  9. I can't send mine out with a team when not in perfect condition
  10. I've got a 201 as well - and a 200. Literally just ordered 4 more chains for the husky and the day after it came back broken. Do I spend £150 repairing it or break it and sell the parts and spend £450 on a new 201?
  11. One of my saws has come back from a day out damaged. The chain brake handle was wobbly and it looks like the top piece of the crank case has broken off. It looks like its a cast piece (and it's pretty small) so welding not an option. I am going to try chemical metal unless anyone has another option otherwise I am considering buying a 'for breaking' T540xp - seized or otherwise. Anyone looking to sell one for less than the £150 a new crank case is? Thanks in advance Kevin
  12. hedgesdirect.co.uk have recently supplied me with 20+ meters of privet and the same in hawthorn. All at 5ft high, delivered when I asked and a decent standard of plant
  13. Not the biggest turn out but damn good weather for Saturday, the world has been set to rights over copious quantities of alcohol and everyone seemed to enjoy the trees, scenery and other activities. Good to meet some new faces (Island Lescure and Rachel), see the usual suspects again and just have a weekend in the woods without the time constraints of work. By the way, the name you are missing is James Forde 'The Southerner'.
  14. It may escalate, I would send a factual response which is likely to move the blame from you to Sue. You did all that should reasonably be expected of you in obtaining permission and it appears you were conned into doing work while Gary was away. If any compensation is due it would be from Sue and not yourself. If you wish to remain friends with Gary I would send him a copy of the letter to prove you did as you did before carrying out the work although with friends like this who needs enemies!!
  15. If you have the text then you have done all that would be deemed reasonably practicable to ensure permission for the works has been granted. As you have a solicitors letter from him then in my opinion the friendly chat with the three of you around the table has been missed and you need to respond to the letter with your defence ASAP. State the facts as you know them including that you made the request that Sue (your customer) contact Gary for permission to complete the works and for access. State you had a response from Sue stating permission granted and access no issue and detail the exact wording in the text. Say no more. Friend or not at this point you were a professional contractor obtaining what you believed to be rightful permission to carry out work. With regards to the number of trees being questioned use google maps or possibly the photos from the estate agents sales brochure to prove what was there. Record and detail everything you remember and everything said from now on, you may need it
  16. Forecast a sunny day for Saturday and cloudy for Sunday. I'll be there from 12 to open up, give me a ring if you have trouble finding the wood. 07867784521.
  17. Glad you didn't try to go, it's next weekend!!
  18. Phone them up and tell them company x has offered 91ppl, match it or i'm off. They will. I've had one card decline in 6 months, a pain in the arse but nothing more really. Luckily the driver had some cash on him. We rarely fill up at places other than the local stations. The land rover tipper only did 3500 miles between MOT's so it's not like we wouldn't be passing again within 24 hours if we had to leave name and address and go back to pay later.
  19. I've got the Texaco one at the moment as the nearest three petrol stations to me are Texaco. This weeks price is 92.16ppl + VAT. I have one card for each team leader and one for myself, most places are still old fashioned sign the receipt and I have never seen anyone check the signature. Security wise they ask what credit limit you want (monthly) and they say you are responsible for any fuel drawn on the card for 48 hours after you report it stolen. The cards are limited to petrol and diesel only. The reason I have them is so the drivers can refuel when needed without me having to hand out cash or a company credit card. The sooner they go to chip and pin the better.
  20. Fingers crossed for good weather but either way this event is still going to happen. If it rains there will be more drinking and chewing the fat than climbing but like I said above there is plenty of undercover space. To answer a few questions, there is decent access and hard standing parking for 15-20 vehicles. It's posh for tree lads - there is a toilet!! We have a beer pump set up at the bar in the woods, if I get enough interest I will get a keg from one of the local micro breweries which costs about £80 and works out at less than a pound a pint. There isn't a local shop/pub/anything in fact that can be walked to. Bring anything you may need. Asda is about 4 miles away or the corner shop in Endmoor village on your way up is a couple of miles. There is plenty of space for pitching tents and the plan is a camp fire to put the world to rights. If you search for 'Warth fish pond' on google maps it drops an arrow right in the middle of the woods. Switch to satellite view and you can see which road to take to get in. I'll be there from 12 with my lads. See you there Any problems ring me on 07867784521
  21. Just come for part 2 of the north west drink fest.
  22. Definitely still happening and there is hard standing for your camper.
  23. About £100 from FR Jones. I did one earlier this year. Total saw strip down as that piece is also the fuel tank.
