  1. cut into pieces 8" long and 3" square I will take it (delivered) in exchange for a half eaten mars bar......have we got a deal??????
  2. might be worth taking them to see if anyone is demo'ing blade sharpeners. "Do you think it could sharpen these?"
  3. Arbtalkers will either be 1. found buying shiny stuff at the various shiny stuff shops 2. talking about shiny stuff in the arbtalk tent or 3. drowning their sorrows in the bar after realising how much they have spent on shiny stuff
  4. make sure the chain brake is off first and then let us have the make and model
  5. With a pinch of HCl (Hydrochloric acid) you won't be doing much climbing anyway!!
  6. I used to hire this grinder all the time until I borrowed another and realised just how blunt/poor the teeth were on the rodgers one and how under powered it is. I bought a very similar machine but 13hp and use decent teeth, that is a dream. Kev
  7. Not sure on the original question but it takes me (plus 1) 2 hours to cut, split using a tractor powered splitter and load 1 van load of firewood, factor in 30 minutes to deliver and it means I am working at the same £ rate as when doing tree work
  8. I state grind the stump to below ground level. If you put remove the stump and they decide to dig a pond there and find some, you will probably get called back.
  9. I beleive there have been 6 northern meets that have happened plus Franks........
  10. with £250 to spend I would be buying chainsaw boots and chainsaw trousers. The list above looks OK as a basic kit but not sure on your maths for the price. The harness is £110 +VAT and you will look at £100+VAT for the rope, krabs at £10-12 each and you are at £250 plus VAT already. Look on the Honey brothers site, they list a basic climbing kit as a set for £400ish I think or ring Jonesie and take advise. I would however buy PPE and get some more time on the kit with Mick or others. You might find you are better suited to the ground (and more of an asset) with your build and strength. Kev
  11. Hitting metal with a 4 foot bar - ARSE!!!!
  12. Are you as organised as me then Dave, been in the calender for months and still didn't buy the advanced price tickets
  13. I agree with ditch the bling, it only takes one branch to catch any of it and it will either damage it or yourself.
  14. long tongue scrog lane not too far from me
  15. So as the owner of a LTD company you need to pay the VAT as the company is buying boots for it's employee? Not that it makes much difference as it is claimed back anyway
  16. Looking for some hardwood, arbwaste accepted as I won't be using a processor. Cash waiting Can arrange transport for the right amount as I have access to an 18 tonner with hiab or tractor loader and trailer for local area. Drop me a PM if you have anything available Thanks Kevin
  17. 5 tonne dead. Put my landie on a weight bridge last Monday full to the point the chainsaws were on the front seat. Weighed 4.7 tonne. It wasn't leaving site as the chip was going to cover some waste land at the back of the site. My truck is about 2.3 tonne empty. It wasn't even near the bump stops I would think you have about the same weight of chip on but your truck will be 5-800kg lighter and the chipper is about a tonne.
  18. no one was going to disturb you while you were spooning your dog in your furry trousers
  19. I offered £150 to use it as a chipper saw, got told to offer more than £200 making it more expensive than jonesie sells them for new
  20. Thats the same price as buying that lot brand new delivered to my door, reduce your price by a wedge and I will take it otherwise will be buying with warranty at the APF. Kev
  21. My bergsteiger Pro have a vibram sole on them (at least there is a Vibram yellow imprint/badge in the sole), has this changed on the new boots?
