  1. Stobarts will do a free evaluation of your site to determine access. If they say they can get a truck in then the liability is on them. They surveyed my yard and said no issues, first artic driver said he couldn't get his truck in and we had to load him 100 yards from the yard taking 2 1/2 hours. Second one backed right to the gate 1st time no issues. You are supposed to be able to load in 45 minutes (drivers break), any more and they try to take from your fees. Since Stobarts said they would be able to get access with driver 1 they didn't charge me for the down time.
  2. Employers liability is a legal requirement not a nice to have. The paperwork (all computer based now) is easy with HMRC. Costs need to include holidays (28 days per year pro rata) and you will have to pay employers NI however at 2 days per week if the employee doesn't do any other work there will be no employers NI to pay.
  3. The £1/cm is great on small quantities but could you really see this as a £4000 job? 1 day if they really are close together and an easy grind - you are giving yourself 5 minutes per stump over an 8 hour day so you have seconds between finishing one and starting the next 2 days sounds more realistic - 10 minute average per stump Probably looking at day rate for 1 man plus machine hire x2 or if you want to be on the safe side 1 man 2 days with the hired in machine plus 1 man running your HB20 on the small ones. It really depends on the time between stumps. I can hire a man with carlton hydraulic machine for £250 / day operated. £1000 should see the job done with a profit/bit of slack
  4. No, they are just outside the town centre on the left heading down Leeds road towards B&Q
  5. Huddersfield saw and tool did my trimmers when the clutch went just watch their lead times when busy
  6. clutch gone bang, cheap and quick fix for any decent tool shop
  7. I only did 9,000 miles in 2.5 years in my last transit!! Current land rover 130 is a 1996 with 96,000 miles on
  8. loads of clock mechanisms on fleabay with options of length of hand and material (metal vs plastic)
  9. look on the alive tuning website for ideas, they seem to recommend Momo wheels which have always been good.
  10. Emoji's don't seem to work but the rest seems quick
  11. No point in mud rails in a chassis cab, your seat will only go as far back as the back of the cab. If you need the seat higher just remove, get some 1" box section and longer bolts. Put the seat back in using the tubing as spacers. You gain quite a lot by getting a smaller steering wheel. Do you really spend that long in the cab that the space is a problem?
  12. I don't see that as gone wrong. If you're going to get a bollocking might as well make it worth while. A fortnight ago I went into the local town to start shopping, ended up buying a new carpet for the living and dining room.
  13. You taking sun glasses for everyone else aswell?
  14. Out of hours charge Emergency charge Copper asked me charge I pushed my luck but it worked charge Call it what you like but a base charge for something not in the diary followed by an hourly rate. When it then gets to the council they can see what you charged and why and should be able to get a rough idea should you be needed in the future. You could just say tree work - one million pounds. I wouldn't expect to get much further work though.
  15. £200 call out charge then your normal hourly rate
  16. Connors Jacket is filthy, he's the only one that does any work. I hear Silky's jacket has a brown sauce stain and a small amount of cider down the front but that's it:001_tt2:
  17. You don't have to issue an invoice detailing VAT to non vat customers so why would you have to issue a quotation showing the VAT? If they can't claim it back it doesn't matter. Like has been said though you can't tell someone their tree work is £400 then when it's time to pay say that will be £480 including the VAT. When you go to the petrol station the price shown is 139.9p/litre and that includes VAT. On your receipt the transaction shows 70 litres @ 139.9p/ litre = £x with the VAT breakdown shown below.
  18. From the HMRC website When a VAT invoice must be issued If you are registered for VAT you must give any VAT-registered customers a VAT invoice for any standard-rated or reduced-rated goods or services you sell them. If you are a retailer, you do not need to issue a VAT invoice or receipt unless your customer asks for one. As a VAT-registered supplier, you may be liable to a fine if you do not issue a VAT invoice for a supply you have made when asked to do so by a VAT-registered customer. There is a time limit within which VAT invoices must be issued - see the section in this guide on time limits for issuing VAT invoices. Top
  19. That's why I asked you first, knew it would be a full list. I was told what they included and it was only half that lot and if any sharpening was required that would be extra.
  20. It's the independent look over and the stamp I want but I am not willing to pay £470+VAT for an oil and filter change!!
