  1. Aye that is probably how it mostly happens , to be fair I think it’s the original pto gear box and that’s what’s gone this time it’s usually the pumps. To be fair I was having to up the rpm a little to get a nice flow with the crane controls so maybe a bit more flow and pressure would not be a bad thing. I know when I asked Wilson’s if I could mount that crane on a roof mount on it they said it would need an auxiliary pump and tank. It’s on 540 Jonny!!
  2. Should be as it was off Wilson’s... I best wait until Tuesday and give them a ring was hoping to order ASAP to get fixed and that load under cover to keep dry for cutting.
  3. Just wondering if any one operating a 580 or 60 knows what pump is fitted if they are not running off the tractor.
  4. I was told by Wilson’s it would not have the power, I would be a bit concerned about having it off the tractor as it’s easier to keep an eye on the levels off hydraulic oil in a separate tank and contamination to the tractor.. I’m a bit anal like that and my crane handling skills usually mean something bursts if I spend a week moving wood!
  5. Pretty sure it’s cast, replaced the pump last year but the gear box seems to have gone now ... I could just replace the gearbox but I think I may do both and put on cat 3 ... just didn’t want to be continuously blowing hoses.
  6. Trailer yesterday has done it’s yearly shit the PTO pump or gear box thing so wondering if I fitted a group 3 pump and gear box would I be at risk of damaging the hydraulics on the crane?or should it be group 3 any way???
  7. Great... there are different additives and then there is contamination... either from transport or storage but my experience is supermarkets will deny everything despite having a garage report saying that is what it is. I’ve experienced first hand fuel contamination from a Sainsbury’s in Bedfordshire and the seizing of saws , a friends car ended up in the garage the same day there are too many people with similar experiences of supermarket fuels to mine to make it coincidental.. from vehicles, plant too two stroke engines I also think a high reving two stroke is far more likely to suffer from contaminated fuel than a car.....
  8. After trying to run and wanting to run aspen on machines a few years back I would not bother now to much hassle, machines needed new carbs ,fuel systems became incontinent to major engine failures not being covered by warranty and then there is the price ... you can’t put a price on health and that’s why battery is the way forward or buying a bandsaw if your milling ..just use non supermarket pump fuel and the best quality synthetic mix you can get.
  9. Thanks , I will take a look maybe on Saturday... I didn’t think it look bad from the photos , I can get more info on the machine but that’s good to know but I did think that was a bit steep for a 10 year old mower but know nothing about them [emoji1303]
  10. Sorry for the hijack , I’ve been offered this for 2k it’s 2011 , would you say this is a fair price for a machine of this age and condition... I know nothing about mowers but pulling a set of gangs behind the avant is getting tedious since the ride on broke!
  11. I would be interstate to see if any one had tried one of these AFA-ROCK 7K 4WD Multipurpose Powerful Hydraulic Mini Skid Steer Loader WWW.EBAY.CO.UK IN OTHER CASES PRICE STAYS AS IT IS. Looks identical to my old style 528...
  12. Just ordered a pair, can’t have you been the only babe all Guccied up in ur zero cloggers... maybe we could start a boy band??
  13. 2511 with 1/4 stihl bar and chain for me with a muffler mod then switch out to a 400 or 500i very rarely do I use 540xp or ms201 these days unless it’s dismantling with out rigging.
  14. Or you could not get our hopes up and then post riddles ... thanks for sharing though I briefly thought I was about to see the light in finding the oracle of modern business on Arbtalk to guide and give us the answers we needed on a plate [emoji6]
  15. In my view domestic work is not in a bubble .. if anything it’s dying ... home owners are having a go themselves or have already got the work done in the first lock downs and lots of new have a go gardeners are getting in on it . You will always find there is a last minute rush this time of year to get things done before nesting , another rush after the Easter holiday... but I don’t think covid has made it go boom! I can see a famine in the usual sort of domestic work tbh. The general public has no clue about ash die back either so this will be fun and games with the only available work that will be a necessity IMO.. I can see plenty of accidents on the horizon making regulations in this work more of a nightmare as home owners and inexperienced part timers try and tackle these trees ... pessimistic??? We will see.
  16. Yes just when it suits the English it becomes British .... FFS ... It really is opinions like your yours which make me feel like some Scott’s should **************** off and stay your side of the border and watch brave heart all day long on repeat ... maybe get trump involved and build a big wall ... either way nationalistic pricks if you got there own way would you still carry on winging ??
  17. Is there some 288’s in there ?
  18. Well if your having a peaceful protest and your getting dogs let loose on you and charged by mounted riot cavalry I would probably start throwing things too...In older age I have grown a respect for police but I won’t forget the times I was assaulted and charged for things I didn’t do because they didn’t like the way we looked or wanted us off the streets ... there’s good and bad in every part of society but I know for a fact and from first hand experience some coppers are bastards and the people that are at the top are more corrupt than some criminals as much as some anarchists are scum and are a total joke to every thing they believe and supposedly represent, but I do think and I can’t write off that there are good people on all fronts that are trying to make a difference for the right reasons and won’t ram there opinions down your throat or smash you over the head with a baton.
  19. Husky 540 battery saw is the only one I’ve used that’s in any way comparable to a petrol saw, certainly gets my vote
  20. I dunno pete if you read the lot and that account is what happened then the police are lucky they only got a few cars burnt... I don’t blame them for protesting the bill is total bollox... we are free only to be told what to do ?

Go for it.. like the other poster said the key to longevity on the older wolfs is keeping the blades sharp.. I still use an old 150 that we have owned since 2002 and it’s a good chipper for domestic work.. I’m still not sure about the newer generation chippers it’s only that the 160 looked good when I’ve seen them and they don’t have the ridiculously wide but good infeed like the 230 that I thought they would last longer as they have got rid of the old sealed bearings and ally fans that are week spots on the 125 and 150.

Ideal for domestic work... if its in budget I would look at the 160 which has replaced it in there line up.
  24. Yeah but I keep seeing people wanting to pay 1.5k for them [emoji38] and I’ve sold all mine and the spares
