  1. Would of liked the splicing course , nice one lads.
  2. Bit more snow last night but it's nice n crispy , just towed Zak through the forest off the back of the truck until we found some nice steep hills.

    Dolmar

Looks interesting ..... Chain is on the wrong way though! Any specs for this saw ?
  4. Tractors are just starting to thaw out, wish I had put thicker socks on.
  5. I have an old Maktec one I brought about 10 years ago for £20. It has done loads of heavy sanding on Alaskan cut boards with a heavy grit , shaping of woodcarvings , cutting and grinding of metal and refuses to die ! I would buy another, in comparison I brought another make and it lasted half a day before the bearings gave up.
  6. Only time I use a silky now is water shoots and a tree that has 3 bits of dead in.... 150 all the way ,so easy to clip in your harness and forget about and combined with SRT it makes pruning all day in comparison to the old silky and DRT seem like being in a day spar in effort comparison.
  7. He used to pop in my local with ruby wax, big character in real life as well, RIP Alan . Classic film dogma , one of my favourite Rickman characters.
  8. Wow that's pretty special , I think there's possibly only 4 breeding pairs in England looking at the statistics.
  9. Don't entirely agree ... As fire wood suppliers we should be stock piling our supplies and storing them so it is suitable to sell at the wettest darkest time of year....if you can't do that the selling of wood not suitable to burn should be labelled as such. Totally agree about soft wood and local supplied timber though.
  10. Your going to have a load of super lights stuck on the shelves now Justin!

    Dolmar

Does that mean dolmar will merge fully in to makita ?
  12. Was thinking of trying the husky ,I like the 150 for all those reasons but may stick with it as it's the weight that makes this saw despite the handle been a bit brittle. Could not agree more on the 201 though mate , first time I used it I was shocked just how bad it was for chasing cuts with not good results, to the point I felt it was not fit for purpose and just dangerous as a serious climbing saw, put it down and never used it since.Running it over would of been a better option though.
  13. SRT and a 560 you can't go wrong for tearing down a tree!
  14. Get what you can for it I would say , but that seems a fair price.
  15. Bowie always seemed kind of immortal , I guess his music will be but it's a sad loss as cancer claims another victim.
  16. Could they be REAL problems like sexual discrimination and harassment in the work place as there is plenty of that to go around in this industry.... I think the original poster just wanted to see some greased up shafts or an option for the women. Personally think it's as tacky as fook and I really don't like the company's sales techniques any way..
  17. You only need one hand to tend limb walking on the hitch climber , also you can use more advanced knots that won't bind up or slip as much as a Prussik can.
  18. Looking forward to it , don't let it be too good as I'll be getting more !
  19. With some great prizes I keep getting drawn in to buying a few more tickets !
  20. For every day work you can keep your old school saws , bad anti vibes and emissions and bland power bands I'm all for any new auto tune or Stratto saw. Great for an occasional blast though....
  21. This does mean we will all have to go and buy more tickets though ... Looks a great prize !
