  1. On second pair of Andrews but got about a year out of last pair , two years out the zermatts but difference is the zermatts are warmer in winter but you need a fridge for your feet after a day's work in summer with them... I will get about 6 -7 months out of any other boots I've tried but don't get on with airstreams at all so can't really comment on them as I lasted two days before I sold them on!
  2. Would just add those two tree photos were taken high up in northern England , it would appear most I've seen past Newcastle are in full leaf now.
  3. No difference at all in last two years in terms of budding and coming on leaf 4th June 2014 Ash in background 4th June 2015
  4. Got to say I've had the exact opposite on my last claim as they virtually crawled up my arse , if I could not provide a receipt it was not covered I lost a few thousand and also it just added to the stress of being cleaned out , I take what Mick and Jon say but things are changing and if you can't provide a paper work trail for any thing covered by insurance I can see now and in the future claims not being covered unless your gear was has loler ,staff are trained for the appropriate task and a risk assessment has been filled or in the case of stolen gear serial numbers and purchase receipts ... It's not good but it's just the way things are going.
  5. Some one re invented the topping strop ... Sorry I just don't see the point in them, I have some antel rings, tried them and see no real benefit at all from using them they can't lift they may give friction but I would rather have a pulley.. First 8 years of my career were spent with a topping strops rigging the best thing we ever did was buy a rigging block !
  6. Will be interested to hear on those boots after you have given them ago rupe. The new haas is awesome once you get the hang of there is no flat spots on it if you have used the mk1
  7. Got this old Honda tiller going but it needs a new carb and has sat in the poly tunnel so all the stickers have peeled off so have no idea of model number for parts! Any ideas ?!
  8. I'd rather put our arctic steer alpine on any slope before putting a standard tractor on , I've never seen it come close to rolling.
  9. This looks good ! I'm undecided now... the Fuchs system looks good also but basically any thing it seems is better than a conventional grease gun!
  10. Don't understand why you can't? The small dmm on mine clips straight on although my neck tether is home made but very similar in design. I clip my neck tether in the top hole ,cord and wrench bottom and haas on the middle and this system is easiest after lots of experimenting for myself to use .
  11. Any body tried one ? If so what's the verdict. Quite like the idea of having one hand free to hold the nozzle on but have the suspicion they may be very weak in pressure delivery.
  12. I'll edit that and say swing better than on a double rope!
  13. Give it time, I find rope walking and rope management easier SRT but it took a while to make it work in favour, you have a lot less friction on traverse and swings , I'll keep my hitch loose and long like I would with a VT to aid self tending as I find it the best combo on DRT as well and keep the wrench on the inside of the hitch next to the HC as its about as stream line as it will get !Posted this before so apologies if you have already seen it but It did and still does inspire me to stop being a pussy and get out on the tips and swing like I can on a double rope! 14. As josh says .... A fixed bollard is almost fool proof even a floating rc2000 would be a a lot easier to get there heads around than a portawrap then all you have to do is shout how many wraps and hold or run.
  15. Watched it on a mobile I phone ....you just had to watch it through YouTube instead of Arbtalk, that should work.
  16. Cool Tommy, send is a pm when your back.
  17. I have a large bit of western red cedar approx 220cm long and between 50cm at its narrowest and 100cm at the widest surplus to requirements sitting in our yard. Based in the north Tyne looking for around £100 for it can load on trailer if required or deliver if local.
  18. Thanks Paul ,Beams are larch and Douglas and the roofs thuja.
  19. Had a little helper today on the drying shed roof
  20. I've only ever lost one saw for good and I'm convinced the customer took it ... Well I know they took it as it was impossible for it to be any where else that really grated on me, I even accused one of the lads who was working with me of taking it but it turns out one of his neighbours saw him using it a year or so later. Left plenty of bits on site, one of the most surprising was a big hedge we used to do for the council I had left a Stihl hs80 there it was still there 2 hours later despite being on the side of a public footpath... but it was the posh part of town !
  21. Wow !! Will it be air or kiln dried ?
