  1. Is it the turbo 190? I use one of those alot and reckon it be a pretty darn good chipper.
  2. :hmmmm:Methinks someone is taking the piss...
  3. Meindl for me. Had almost 2 years wear out of my current pair and apart from the soles wearing down they are still going strong.
  4. Don't worry Mr Satan - we are not all this critical. cool pics!!!
  5. Hey Matty, if you can 'prove' that the tree work is necessary maintenance, your customer could get a court order for you allowing you access to the neighbour's land. A mewp may be less hassle though!
  6. I heard recently that Total Arb had been axed.
  7. Nice pics vduben. Looks like a fun job.
  8. I've asked you before not to video my work Carl, it makes me very uncomfortable.
  9. Cool pics of a nice job, cheers Matty!
  10. Great pics - thanks for sharing. Fair play to you for cracking on with that after a shocking previous day.
  11. We got given a little bottle of scotch the other week - the guy was expecting us to drink it there and then to keep warm!! Best tea makers are those that know/have family that are tradespeople. A while ago we got unlimited tea and coffee and bacon and egg rolls from a lovely lady that commented that she hoped people would treat her son the same who is a plumber. ...mind you, the prices plumbers charge....
  12. What's the problem with Tenex Peter? I have heard a few people saying this but can't see the problem with it.
  13. Nice pics Carlos! Did you get much grief working there? It's a pretty prominent spot.
  14. Maybe after some experience yes, but when you are starting out I disagree. I remember always being told at college to go higher to set my anchor - it is nerve racking at first because of the combination of height and smaller limbs to choose from.
  15. Ha ha - thanks Tony. It did help that I happened to read about it this week!
  16. Here ya go dude - lime i felled today. Used the dog-tooth cut as we had a winch on it. Popped over just loverly he did.
  17. Treelife Training run it at 3 locations around the country and I have found so far to be excellent. Their number is 0116 2606939 if you wanna ring them and ask about their locations.
  18. Common law allows you to cut branches back to your boundary as they can be a 'niusance' to you. However, the case of Sun Timber Co. Ltd vs Leeds City Council resulted in a ruling that overhanging branches are only a 'nuisance' if they are an 'actionable nuisance' - ie they are causing current damage or will do so in the immediate future. Therefore if this interpretation of the law is correct, any overhanging branches which are not causing/about to cause damage will need the Local Planning Auth's permission. Obviously it seems that different LPAs have different opinions on it.
  19. I find stuff with collars encourages even more sawdust down my back though.
  20. http://www.abbeypro.co.uk/subprod/francital-pro-chainsaw-clothing-0001738.aspx oops, forgot the link!! they have the same delightfully tasteful rainbow stitching as the SIPS. I think advertising that they have a 'two way' zip fly is scraping the barrel a bit. They look nice though - except I can't see the difference between the blue type c and the black except the £60 price difference.
  21. I think these are the ones VL is on about - scroll down a bit and you'll see them. Made by Francital.
  22. Cool - will try and make it along. Anyone camping? Seeing as how Carl is making me drive this time maybe I could pitch a tent and have a few shandy's.
