  1. Will be there from 8ish traffic dependent. Hope there'll be something left by then. Although I have my doubts.
  2. I do know a guy who does Greco-wrestling. As far as I know it is an olympic sport.
  3. Ha ha!! You're the one posting the pictures of semi-naked muscle guys on a tree forum! Is that wrestling the same as WWF and all that? It's all just acting isn't it?
  4. Probably going to camp over there on the friday night although not arriving til 8pm-ish. Hope to see a few of you there for a bevvie or two.
  5. Hi Mr Bish, There is a bit of info on aie.org.uk about method statements. There was also a good thread about this on here recently: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1312&highlight=method+statement Hope this helps a bit. Sorry I haven't got one to send you myself.
  6. Thanks Lee and Tony. AA are charging £220 for non-members for a 1 day course. PM coming your way Lee.
  7. Is that because you already have experience in writing reports Lee? I am considering it as I finish my Tech Cert this summer and would like some more tuition specifically on writing good reports.
  8. I am considering doing the one day course 'Arboricultural Consultancy Writing Professional Arboricultural Reports' in June. Has anybody on here done this course? The blurb on the website says that it includes a comprehensive manual and CD with report templates etc - are these any good? thanks, Paul
  9. Gotcha now Bob - no offence intended. Round here there is a good company called Trac-access: http://www.trac-access.com
  10. My shopping list is pretty small at the moment Jonesie, but I will be looking at: Harnesses - to try on and get a feel for the next purchase Boots - my Meindl's are on the way out Soft link for wire core flipline Cambium saver - something like the ART ropeguide but cheaper! Carbon fibre spikes Hitch climber New biners Small fry I admit, but that's all I need.
  11. Your post made me laugh but I'm not entirely sure what you are on about dude! Are you looking to buy a mewp?
  12. Cool vid - nice one for posting it Anna.
  13. Bought one last year but still haven't used it. Maybe that tells me that I never really needed it anyway.
  14. Poor fella - i remember reading about him before.
  15. PM sent. Cheers Justin
  16. Horrible news. Condolences to you and her family.
  17. I don't get your meaning there Bundle2.
  18. I would like it if there was a requirement for Arb consultants to have previous practical experience. Aside from resulting in more realistic job specs, it would reduce the them/us mentality. I can't see this happening in reality though unfortunately.
  19. Many happy returns of the day Lee. Hope you have a nice day.
  20. Maybe it depends on the area but I went 'freelance' straight out of college and never had a problem - the thing is to charge a sensible rate in line with your abilities and don't make out you're some kick-ass climber when you are not. I found that being self-employed from the beginning was a good thing for me in that the more companies you do days for, the sooner you learn that there are different ways of doing things and you can see for yourself which ways work and which don't. That breadth of experience is pretty valuable I reckon.
  21. Don't take it personally Steve - we still loves you.
  22. I reckon that High Scale bloke must be a joker. Just look at his avatar pic.
  23. I have met Greville - he is indeed a nice guy. A guy I subbed for had a demo of the same chipper. Not an amazing machine in all honesty but I liked the dude. He is obviously working very hard at getting his chipped business going. Sorry this a bit off-thread. Er - cabstar - how about an alpine magnum for a cheap and small stump grinder. If you buy the one with the husky power unit you gain a big saw as well.
