  1. haha good video rob. i love the bit when the music stops as the loaders moving the loader is aboxer 427
  2. blue tongue is far easier to grip in the wet than tachyon. i had the misfortune to climb on a hank of tachyon in the rain a couple of weeks ago, decended and came back up with an old hank of arbormaster
  3. marty? i might be able to give you the odd day here and there if your happy to come over on the ferry
  4. it seems to me that people are finding problems that dont really exist, ie redirecting being the major one it seems do people not plan a route through the tree using Ddrt. I often redirect though crotches and retrive my gear by pulling it back through the crotch by pulling the tail of my rope. i thinned x2 oaks today and at no point did i think it would be easier on a srt workpostioning system. i however accessed both trees using srt
  5. if they cant grasp the concept of how a throwline or cambium saver works after a weeks training they shouldnt be in the industry

  7. sorry pal, your wrong there "As a rule forces can be minimized by, Putting more rope in the system" quoted from the Art and science of practical rigging load is also shared between multiple anchor points
  8. Norway maple reduction from first thing, soaked to the bone
  9. a customer whos second home we do the treework at down in lymington has asked me to price some work in chiswick. normally london is the wrong side of the cattle grid for us, but if the moneys right...
  10. as above, im in need of a dump site for x2 loads of woodchip somewhere near chiswick many thanks john
  11. does anybody have any experience of these splitters, im considering getting one to mount on the front of my boxer 427 cheers
  12. also how would a rw setup react with 2 climbers weights on it?
  13. not so simple if there doing tip reductions, you then need to select a anchor point that is not only load bearing but able to support 2 bodies
  14. good point rich, its also got me thinking, what if something happens when accesing by body thrusting or footlocking. people seem to harp on about how important it is to climb on a lowerable system when using srt but what about the techniques that are approved and used for our industry that arnt lowerable from the ground is it just a case of people over complicating things again, or will we end up all having to climb srt with no lanyard and 2 lines that can both be lowered from the ground
  15. yeah bits and pieces, just dont seem to have the time at the moment
  16. mainly as thats all i had in my splicing bag il take a picture of the sling i made for an isc block out of some gleinstein hollowbraid if i get up the yard tomorrow
  17. dont have breakfast, usually have a cup of tea when i get up, then stop at 10 for some breakfast. if its a big tree i might have a chocolate biscuit or something before i start. occasionally we will stop and get a bacon roll if we are passing the cafe, but thats usually only on a special occasion like a friday
  18. as above, part time groundsman required. would suit self employed person tickets essential, minimum of groundsaw/maintenance and small fell, climbing certs a benefit based in new forest we work to a high standard be on time and do as your told and we will get on fine pm here or call the office on 01590 690456
