  1. just ordered 1m, il splice up a ropeguide and bring it to the AAshow
  2. generally i make them about 1.2 - 1.5m that one is 1.5m ive spliced a 4m one for chogging down big timber that is used from time to time the shackle is from a boat shop
  3. another rope guide because i fancied a change. edelrid rope with wire insert in the large eye

  5. yard for between 7 and 730 depending which gear we are taking with us, onsite for 8, back to the yard for 4 to 430
  6. why do people assume that because the price is cheaper, the work qaulity will be less we reduced the 2 oaks below, chipped and left the site spotless in less than 10 hrs for £870.00 with 3 guys on site. the first tree was over 3 gardens. the other company that quoted put in a price of 1500.00 id say i priced it well, with a high qaulity of work. the difference is that we are an experienced, skilled, efficient crew, where as, the company i was quoting against generally have less experienced guys working for them
  7. how do you know that the other guy isnt going to have 3 or 4 guys on it 2 climbers, 1 being the company owner the other paid £120.00, 2 groundsman at £80.00 pounds each would still leave a a tasty 370 for the owner/lead climber of course i havnt seen the job, but you dont know how the other guy looks at it either

  12. im looking at getting rid of my carlton 2500 and getting one of the above grinders to replace it. the reason for this is my big grinder doesnt go out often enough and ive started subbing my larger stumps out to stumpbusters. ive got a carlton 900 but want something with a bit more grunt what are the pros and cons of the carlton sp2010 and/or bandit sidewinder cheers

  17. unfortunately not, to busy setting out chapter 8 stuff, and trying to get an access line in that didnt involve footlocking through a load of Holly
