it seems to me that people are finding problems that dont really exist, ie redirecting being the major one it seems do people not plan a route through the tree using Ddrt. I often redirect though crotches and retrive my gear by pulling it back through the crotch by pulling the tail of my rope. i thinned x2 oaks today and at no point did i think it would be easier on a srt workpostioning system. i however accessed both trees using srt

also how would a rw setup react with 2 climbers weights on it?

not so simple if there doing tip reductions, you then need to select a anchor point that is not only load bearing but able to support 2 bodies

good point rich, its also got me thinking, what if something happens when accesing by body thrusting or footlocking. people seem to harp on about how important it is to climb on a lowerable system when using srt but what about the techniques that are approved and used for our industry that arnt lowerable from the ground is it just a case of people over complicating things again, or will we end up all having to climb srt with no lanyard and 2 lines that can both be lowered from the ground

dont have breakfast, usually have a cup of tea when i get up, then stop at 10 for some breakfast. if its a big tree i might have a chocolate biscuit or something before i start. occasionally we will stop and get a bacon roll if we are passing the cafe, but thats usually only on a special occasion like a friday

as above, part time groundsman required. would suit self employed person tickets essential, minimum of groundsaw/maintenance and small fell, climbing certs a benefit based in new forest we work to a high standard be on time and do as your told and we will get on fine pm here or call the office on 01590 690456

i have 4 cast blocks and 3 or 4 of the redirect style, and can safely say they all get used regularly. its rare that we only install one block in a tree, far better to spred the load. the last cast isc pulley i bought was 85 pounds, it doesnt take long for the daily cost of that to become pence -
