  1. Shouldn't they be mentioning the need to check quals and insurance, instead of plugging the AA that only represents a tiny section of the British Arb community? Not being funny mate, but there is plenty of good work, carried out professionally day in day out, by contractors with no affiliation to the AA in any shape or form, if the AA had tree owners and contractors best interests at heart they would plug the work of non AA contractors too, pressing the need for tree owners to check for references, quals and insurance, rather than simply plugging the AA contractors scheme. Either that or push the government to regulate the industry, just like it is for plumbers and electricians.
  2. From what Iv'e seen in the Med country's, they wouldn't have a clue what NPTC is or what any arb tickets are, they just get on with it, and pay little attention to the carp Brussels chucks out........

  9. Fassi make a crane that lifts 500kg full stretch, I looked into cranes years ago, after working out all the figures, TBH it looked like a waste of time and money, it wasn't even worth putting a small crane on a 7.5 ton lorry, or 3500kg trailer

  13. 10 years from now I would like to be living in North NSW trolling for Spanish Mackerel, shark and Longtail Tuna in summer and big Snapper in the winter, the poxy weak pound looks like putting the kibosh on that, plus the kids are getting older and now don't want to go... If OZ doesn't happen I'll be happy, doing what I'm doing now, varied garden and tree work, nothing too stressful..
  14. What a bit like Johnny Morris?
  15. The only trouble I see is getting a dozen or so arbs to come together on such a project, around here they can barely raise a hand to one another when driving along, let alone form a cooperative..
  16. My mate has one, he doesn't tow a trailer, but it hasn't let him down in 5 years
