  1. Not quite sure what your saying. Are you saying that an aftermarket knife company might supply a a knife for a TW150 when they acually need a TW190 knife? As long as the measurements are the same, there will be no problem? All the aftermarket supplier does is copy the existing knife dimensions. In a lot of cases the Aftermarket manufacturer might well be manufacturing the OE knives.
  2. I have been really happy with these boots, nice and chunky + hard wearing. My only gripe is that recently, the internal padding has collapsed, leaving more room than is comfortable inside the boot. I've started wearing soe really thick socks which helps a bit. Anyone else had this problem?
  3. 5 euros an hour? is that a Typo? I would think you would need to offer at least 25 euros an hour... I was on 35 duetchmarks an hour back in '98
  4. My early pair are steel, But I'm told that the later models are all composite.
  5. All our woodlands are now choked with Ivy as most smallwoods are'nt worked anymore. I hate it, it chokes the lfe out of everthing. I particularly dislike the way it grows accross the woodland floor, reminds me of HG Wells the red weed.

    windy not arf

Flippin' heck. Just got back from a mammoth drive back from Sterling. Drove through 3 heavy blizzards, 4 inches of snow on the M74, passed 4 artic trucks on their sides on the M6, numerous accidents and shunts and nearly got blown off the road by an 80 mph sidewind coming through the Lakes. Exciting weather.
  8. I'd like to see nice soft pages, as wiping my bum with glossy paper is a pain.
  9. NFU all the way. they will cover anything you have, and have started doing tree surgeons insurance too. The more business you put their way, the better deal you get.
  10. Absolute bollocks. The steel used by Saturn knives is Swedish Udderholme tool steel, Basically the absolute best in the world. Every billet sold is x ray tested before it leaves the foundry. Their machining work is of the highest quality. Saturns knives are equal if not better than any OE knives. I would be carefull casting aspertions if you dont know the full technical and engineering processes that go into tool steel knife manufacturing...
  11. Better make it two if you include me:drunk:
  12. Ho ho ho... Mine was like an old landrover - an endless amount of small breakdowns. Mine was 1700 with a 230hp engine. I just prefer trucks at the end of the day, but I can see why a mog suits certain people. But forget thinking your going to save money.
  13. Hees a tip for anyone wanting an excellent woodburner, I have seen these and the quality is equal to the Clearview http://www.greymetal.co.uk These are superb stoves, and unlike most stove manufacturers, they quote nominal output rather than gross. I run a thermorossi 'BOSKY' stove, 20kw output with 2 ovens. I'm soon replacing it witha vigas chip boiler, as I want the automation, and need slightly more output in this freezing cold old farmhouse.
  14. Count me as a can. Ive used fracture cuts on Large oaks before now. (Pete McTree did a large accidental fracture cut for me the other day:D) Its not something I'd use much, but its knowing when to use it that counts.
  15. By Law, it has to be by someone else, an external Loler inspector. Pete McGirlypants is probably the closest I can think of.
  16. No, but breakfast and a last ciggarette is offered...
  17. Ha. I'm a Tree Service That might involve care, but more often than not, I'm felling trees or clearing whole sites.

    Pecontools!

Unless the MEWP your using is designed to operate as a crane...
  19. Most excellent work. No criticisms here.
  20. RAOFLMAO!
  21. I thought you did it perfectly. No criticisms at all Mr Superhuman.
  22. Mr Ed

    Urgent!

I'd quite happily shoot a few ferral scum, and worry about as much as I do when I shoot rats and other vermin.
  23. Not Very. we had a couple of days of -5c last month. Its the wind chill factor that gets you. 30 mph wind coming off the sea there, cuts to the bone.
  24. cleared all cookies and temp. internet files. still wont work.
  25. This was one of those crisp clear days, cold as a witches armpit, with a lazy wind (lazy wind cant be bothered to go round you, it just goes straight through...) Spec was to cut away the dead portions of tree overhanging the road, and leave the rest as habitat.
