  9. Many do, you will be looking at about £23 - £35 a tonne for smallwood, depending on species and availability. You might get some knarly loads for £20...thats what I charge.
  10. A couple of you have asked about the nice hi-viz jackets I get, seen here- http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1190 These are a great jacket, as they are light enough to work in, much tougher than conventional hiviz, and look smart. They are a polyester blend, so not sweaty like the nylon ones. This is a free prize draw for a brand new one, I will draw the winning entry from a hat this time next week....
  11. Universal!
  12. Butt was sold within a week. I have a list of guys always wanting timber. My lovely Darth Vader hat was a week old. A couple of days later I drove off with it sat on the roof of the jeep. It was never seen again

  16. What trees cant he get with the shears? To big and hairy?
  17. There is unrest in the forest, There is trouble with the trees, For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas. The trouble with the maples, (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light. But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made. And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade. There is trouble in the forest, And the creatures all have fled, As the maples scream "Oppression!" And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights. "The oaks are just too greedy; We will make them give us light." Now there's no more oak oppression, For they passed a noble law, And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe, and saw.
  18. Hehe. Shrek and Donkey dismantling...
  19. Top tune Alex. Welcome to Arbtalk...
  20. Sometime you can try 3a. fell another tree on the leaner, see if you can knock it out - although if it fails, this can cause slight problems with no 4.
  21. cool tune carl.
  22. Dean, I hear what your saying, and agree 100%, but even in your post you quote times where 'heavy pruning' might be applicable. I think that is where me and Huck are coming from - that sometimes there is a reason time and place for drastic action.
  23. Whoa! Cute co worker
  24. My mog came from Atkinson during his 'bad old days' - put me off Mogs for life. Nice Mog mike. Chipper doing what you wanted?
