  1. Everything Pete said... except... They chip extremely well
  2. I have had a very very bad lawyer, a useless lawyer, a reasonable lawyer... And now I have a fantastic Lawyer who does legal stuff in return for a bit of stumpgrinding and suchlike. His main client is ISC components, so he's pretty damn good. He has several times told me - 'you are in the right, you could win, but it will cost alot. I advise you to forget it.' So he gives me good advice.
  3. minicranes UK import them. Very pricey.
  4. Currently still working away folks, So I'll extend the draw till the middle of next week.
  5. Yes... He's my main man!
  6. Ben, do you want a proper drum chipper?
  7. All those are gone now. Forwarder was reposessed with only £1800 owing:mad: I would love to find where it went, as I'd put a new 240hp engine in her. County was sold, chipper now needs a shotblast and repaint. Couple more pics - Mate of mine helping on rhody job with very tidy zero tail swing Kobelco, and fetching a few loads of firewood with the volvo
  8. First pics are from a 23 acre rhody clearance. A few pics of my Bandit and county when the chipper was brand spanking
  9. Guys, I dont think discussing bashing pensioners is in keeping with the proffesional tone of this forum.

    Nice Work!
  13. no point taking anybody to court without a written quote. I did take a blind pensioner to court once, but he was a nasty sort, worth millions, and I'd given him a written quote. He tried to say that because we did the job so quick, he was'nt going to pay me what I aksed. I'd quoted him £600 to reduce two beech, fell 1 lombardy poplar (60ft) and take 3 large lombardy stumps alap. We were done and chipped up by 2 o clock. He offered me £200. I refused, so he refused to pay me. So I took him to small claims, he tried to tell the judge We'd threatened him, but the judge said he did'nt believe him, and ordered him to pay in full. Silly old git got up and started shouting abuse at the judge, so he was ejected from the courthouse:laugh: Still had to send the ballifs in to get the money, ended up costing him about £1200 in total.
  14. I rarely do written quotes for prvate jobs. I have had exactly the same happen to me, but it was an old geezer - I reduced 3 massive connifers for him, quoted £400. Went to get paid and he said I'd quoted him £140.... Silly bugger knew exactly what I'd quoted him... but he was in a wheelchair, and played the frailty act... I called him a bastard and took the £140. still makes me annoyed thinking about it.

    Earthquake!!

I remember the 1984 'quake, 5.4 and the epicentre about 10 miles from where we lived. pretty scary at the time.
  16. Did anbody else feel it last night? 5.2 on the richter scale, epicentre just south of grimsby. I was staying in a hotel in manchester, it shook the pictures off the walls, and the telly fell off the cabinet...

  18. We might not look that good Anna, but I doubt he has as much balls in his whole body as us lot have in our little fingers... Bet he's gay too.
  19. Tirol Fighters. Those miendls would be cool if they werent in pink. I could just spill hydraulic oil over them like the rest of my boots....
  20. Mr Ed

    name please

Piece of cake to do, just needs a set of T Taps + some bayonet fittings. Personaly, I would not want to put hours and wear on the engine of my chipper running it as a glorified powerpack, nor run the chance of contaminating the hydraulic oil and shagging the feed motors.
  21. Yeah, It was damn heavy, about 9 tonnes I think. I took minimal pictures as I had video'd the job, but we lost the footage somewhere. We just lifted the whole thing over the wall, cut the rootplate off and put the timber in the back off my truck.
  22. Ben, Next time utilise your crane to dismantle the whole tree. Pointless to strip it first then get a crane. Nice pics and well done on the Job.
  23. I have 20 for county....
  24. Mark, We build the splitters like you see in the picture. We are just up the road from you in Measham on the A444. A fully speced TW7 is about £6500, but there is nothing to compare to it for processing dimensioned logs from large rings. The Hydraulics on your tractor would be very slow, and unlikely to have sufficient pressure to get full force on the Ram. Better to run a hydraulic pack off the PTO
  25. Alder makes the very best charcoal. The very best gunpowder was made with Alder charcoal. Makes exceptionaly good firewood too.
