  1. Ivecos are nice. I used film faced ply, the stuff they use on trailer floors, sometimes called phenolic ply. About £30 a sheet, but not lightweight really. For some ideas have a look at Rupe's LDV thread on here. Any 3.5 tonne tipper with chip on it is going to be overweight when loaded, so I wouldnt lose too much sleep over it.
  2. Let me get this straight. You are proposing a scenario where a vehicle plated at 3.5 tonnes gross can be loaded to double that by hitching a trailer up? Nice trick if you could.
  3. Yes. I quite like it actually.
  4. If the forecast is for damp and and overnight low of less than +2 C, they will grit just in case, as the forecast is accurate to around 2 degrees either way, so spots of ice are quite likely. Happens quite often around this time of year.
  5. AV is the reason I went for the 441. As I say, not had reason to regret it, had it for a good 2 years and given it a good beasting in that time.
  6. 460 is a good saw. Best with a 20", will run 25" no problem, if you port it it will pull 30"... I went for the 441 in the end, havent regretted it one bit.

Sanny, not trying to be funny but I think that is a really bad design. Those fine lines will bleed and go fuzzy in no time, and it will be really difficult to touch up later. Looks cool for now though.
  8. If you employ someone as a tree surgeon, and they also drive the truck to site, then they dont need it. If you employ someone to drive a truck, then they do. I might do it anyway, as I do some jobs that are really just driving and collecting timber, and I like to keep my options open.
  9. Just been looking into this on the official website, and found the following exemption; Vehicles used for carrying material of equipment to be used by the driver in the course of his or her work, providing that driving the vehicles is not the drivers’ principle activity http://www.drivercpc.org/en/affects/
  10. Your earlier post seemed to imply differently, but I can understand that you don want anyone to know that you know how much mewp hire costs!
  11. I'd like to know where you can get two extra climbers for £220 plus vat per week.
  12. I cut the hedge at the house opposite mine on Tuesday, 40 yards from my front door. It was nice to walk to work for a change.
  13. Not many castles in Cheltenham then Rupe?
  14. From the expression on your face I'd say you were attempting to lasso a hot blonde on a horse!
  15. Bet if you shaved your head you'd find some!
  16. That looks ace. Well done to all concerned for giving the tree a chance for a new lease of life.
  17. Do all your customers address you as Mr Lofthouse, or just the stingy ones?
  18. I have a brand new .325 16" bar in the shed if its any use, you would need a different sprocket but it would cut like a hot knife through flora. PM me an offer or swapsie if you want it
  19. Someone upset the apple cart?
  20. Nope. When is it again?
  21. Aha, perhaps Joe should go for one of these then
  22. Eh? by all means.
  23. Only as much as having a soft link sling in the setup. If you have a nice short hitch it would be difficult to accidentally cut it, given good work positioning.
