  1. Alternatively, you could buy it with a 36" inch bar, ready set up with .404 sprocket, from the dealer, and buy a 28" .404 bar as well. I think I would go for 3/8s on a saw of that size for preference though.
  2. If youre planning to run it with a 28" as well, then thats definately the route to take.
  3. Easiest way would be to buy an oregon or other make of bar, in the length you require, but in a 3/8 size. That way the sprocket ect stays the same.
  4. The slices are taken at approx 60 cm intervals. The last three pics are fruiting bodies from about 1.5 metres on the stem, and the last pic of all is fbs in the grass near the stem. There were several clumps of these in close proximity to the tree.
  5. Slightly nerdy thread......... Felled a chestnut today, there was about 2 square inches of live wood at ground level, but it was all sound wood at around 2 metres. The hinge didnt so much break as the tree went over as just shear off. There were a few brackets on the stem, but I suspect honey fungus may have played a role too..........
  6. Nice bit of mistletoe i spotted today in a crab apple.
  7. Fantastic trees tommer, i love those big planes!
  8. What no spikes?!
  9. Are you sure you've used it? It looks vair clean..............
  10. Matty, is your 36" 3/8s bar a husky? In the catalogue they only list 3/8s bars up to 28", so to go up to anything bigger would mean changing to .404, which might slow a 395 down a bit.
  11. Why not retrain the mink to eat parakeets, and kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
  12. Severed it at the base, but thankfully they didnt want it all stripped as well.
  13. Two ash reductions from today.

    next show ?

Capel Manor isnt a big show, if youre expecting harvesters and stuff you will be disappointed. If you want to buy climbing kit its ideal though.
  15. Hahaha! Perhaps we can all do out bit by wrecking some B&Q crap and then selling them some high quality replacements!
  16. Nice one. Great pics, thanks for posting.
  17. Sounds like fun.
  18. Sure I heard something years ago about autumn colour being better in dry conditions. Maybe its an old wives tale. Clearly you have never seen a Liquidambar, otherwise you would know it has alternate leaves as opposed to the pic which has opposite leaves..... Anyway, since it clearly isnt a tulip tree, i'm going with some kind of Acer.
  19. Well done, that is an excellent opportunity, I hope you do well!
  20. Lirodendron tulipifera? As to autumn colour, have you had a dry summer?
  21. A Disco 4? I was looking at one the other day at a game fair. They look good, but there are some good deals to be had on the last of the 3s.
  22. Those flowers are unmistakable. I used to have a really nice variegated one, got a bit frost damaged though.
  23. I knew it wasnt right as soon as I posted. Aralia was floating around at the back of my mind but I just couldnt quite grasp it!
  24. Yes.
  25. Pretty much all the service industries are contracted out now, the days of soldiers painting fences are long gone!
