  1. Sorry didn't really specify the conditions. This is just sort of general climbing setup, i tend to use one end of the rope and a steel strop nearly all the time, never use two seperate rope systems unless it's someones else's kit. cheers
  2. Hi Guys, I'm studying my ND Arb at cannington college, i am currently doing an investigative project looking at the different climbing setups and how widely they are used. If you could just tick which ever system you use it would help me for my project, if you use a system i haven't put please put down what you use and why. Thanks alot! Joe
  3. Just turned 18. I work with someone that was in the TA and he says it was amazing, but to be honest i don't think it would be worth joining it when i haven't got loads of work back at home, i think i would rather just join the full time army. what does everyone think is a good thing to do in the army? I would like to join infantry but the way things are going out in afganistan and iraq i don't think it's the most sensible option
  4. That is gutting. Ah well, i expect i'll be joining the army in a few years anyway
  5. I know this should be in employment but i figured more people read threads in general chat... Does anyone know how to get a job with the MOD? i've just started my ND arb, already got NC arb but to be honest the course is pretty pants, half of us did the NC last year and the other half have never used a saw before so i am not sure if i'm going to carry on with it yet. i've wanted to be in the army for a long time but my parents (still living at home) don't want me going out into combat so i figured why not mix tree surgery with the MOD, i'm guessing all the british army bases in england, germany etc need tree surgeons/groundsman to manage them. Does anyone know what i'd have to go about to get in on it? Cheers Joe
